2024 United States Senate election in Vermont
The 2024 United States Senate election in Vermont will be held on November 5, 2024, to elect a member of the
United States Senate to represent the state of
Vermont . Primary elections will take place on August 13, 2024.
[1] Incumbent three-term Senator
Bernie Sanders , who is an
independent but caucuses with the
Democratic Party , was re-elected with 67% of the vote in
2018 .
Sanders has not yet announced whether he will seek re-election; in 2019, he filed paperwork to run in 2024,
[2] On January 8, 2024, he stated he would decide whether or not to seek re-election in the "near future."
[3] During his 2018 re-election campaign, Sanders did not announce his plans to run for re-election until May.
