Height Errors

Veer Towers listed as 433 feet, 129 meters. 129 meters = 423 feet, not 433.

Masquerade Tower listed as 510 feet, 129 meters.

Echelon Place

Interesting page, however you forgot Echelon Place is under construction already. For info on the latest building construction in Las Vegas go to vegastodayandtomorrow.com —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.189.215.176 ( talk) 04:58, 12 September 2007 (UTC) reply

Proposed move

I have listed this page at WP:RM as an uncontroversial move, with the goal of moving the page to List of tallest buildings in Las Vegas.

Per this FL discussion related to the List of tallest buildings in Dallas page, it was decided that United States building lists that contain only one freestanding tower (with all other entries habitable buildings) should not be dubbed with "and structures" in the title. The change would be consistent with other U.S. tallest buildings lists, and reduce confusion, as "structures" more or less implies multiple structures, not just one observation tower. As long as a note is added to the observation tower entry, the clarification in the title is not needed. Rai- me 01:50, 3 November 2007 (UTC) reply

Not in Las Vegas?

Technically, most of these structures aren't within the city limits of incorporated Las Vegas. Perhaps "List of tallest buildings in the the Las Vegas Metro Area" or "Greater Las Vegas" would be more accurate. - 98.221.133.96 ( talk) 12:09, 28 April 2008 (UTC) reply

I think most people would understand that this category denoted buildings in the Las Vegas metro area. Spitwater ( talk) 15:04, 28 April 2008 (UTC) reply

I don't think most people understand that most of what they call "Las Vegas" isn't actually within the city limits, despite the postal address. This is an encyclopedia, and I think it's important we highlight this fact. I agree with the addition of "Metro Area" to the title. It wouldn't be appropriate for most other cities, but LV is unique in this regard as most of "Las Vegas" is not really in Las Vegas.

The reason it isn't included is because the post office designates the surrounding communities of Las Vegas to be "Las Vegas, NV". The reasoning is stated in the heading of the tallest buildings section. Most skyscraper sites such as Emporis and SkyscraperPage do not disambiguate between Las Vegas and other communities based on this reasoning. Cheers, Raime 21:05, 28 April 2008 (UTC) reply

Exactly.... If I send a package to the MGM Grand and address it to Las Vegas, NV, I'm sure it will get there and the post office won't be confused and wonder, "Do they mean Clark County, or Paradise or Las Vegas? Spitwater ( talk) 21:54, 28 April 2008 (UTC) reply

It is common for any metro area to be referred to by the main city. For this list, which is seen all over the world, "Las Vegas" automatically means "Las Vegas area." Many people do not know about Paradise, Henderson, or other Las Vegas suburbs, me included. When I here "Las Vegas," my mind does not only concentrate on the area within Las Vegas city-limits, but the entire metro area. Leitmanp ( talk | contributions) 04:50, 29 April 2008 (UTC) reply
I'm not going to alter the article, I just think it's important to keep in mind that a postal distric is NOT a city. - 98.221.133.96 ( talk) 00:54, 9 May 2008 (UTC) reply

Palms Place

Palms Place opened in February and should no longer be in the "under construction" list. Rmisiak ( talk) 07:13, 12 July 2008 (UTC) reply

Add Encore Las Vegas?

The Encore Las Vegas should be put on the list of tallest buildings. It is 631 ft. tall according to Emporis, which would put it above the Wynn Las Vegas, which is 614 ft. tall according to Emporis. 67.171.172.44 ( talk) 01:36, 14 January 2009 (UTC) reply

Unsourced information?

Stratosphere Tower's notes claim it is 4th tallest structure in Nevada and 9th tallest free-standing structure in the United States.
According to what? There is no cite for that part of the text. 82.141.64.25 ( talk) 00:06, 14 May 2012 (UTC) reply

There are problems with some of the heights listed: Veer Towers listed as 433 feet, 129 meters. 129 meters = 423.2 feet, not 433 Masquerade Tower listed as 510 feet, 129 meters. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Deleyd ( talkcontribs) 02:01, 2 March 2015 (UTC) reply

Does the All Net count?

Just wondering why because i'm sure that the arena and hotel is tall and I was thinking that it could be added to the list of proposed/approved tallest buildings here. That's all I gotta say lol EverestMachine 4001 ( talk) 02:54, 6 May 2023 (UTC) reply

Harlem Nights/Westside hotel height changed

The Harlem Nights/Westside hotel height has changed from 60 stories to 34 stories. So what does this mean? EverestMachine 4001 ( talk) 02:46, 13 November 2023 (UTC) reply
