Thanks. Also, I was wondering about your source for these articles. Did you manually read the names off the
map or pull data from an uncited database? You started an article about
Verde River (Bolivia), which is now a redirect: Verde River (Bolivia) to
Verde River (Mato Grasso). There is an open proposal to merge this with
Rio Verde (Guaporé River tributary). I am unable to easily determine whether these are the same river, or two different rivers. It's possible the river in
Mato Grosso crossed the
Rondônia border and the
Bolivia border – why the "(Bolivia)" disambiguation in the title of the original version?

I saw that. That was fast! Impressed with your proficiency with AWB. I figured it out. Your source was
List of rivers of Mato Grosso, which was created by

List of rivers of Rondônia was created at 18:36, 22 June 2009 and
Rio Verde (Guaporé River tributary) was created by you off that red link at 04:33, 6 July 2009. I started a discussion at

Kmusser (though thinking it over a bit, I believe we have had the odd discussion now and again), and honestly don't recall realizing that the redlink list was as new as it was when I created the articles; I was simply on a spree stubbing rivers from countries all over the world. Like I say...things were a bit looser back in the day. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 15:28, 5 January 2021 (UTC)reply
I can chime in, the original list of rivers was made by me and it was indeed reading them off of that map manually.
Kmusser (
talk) 03:42, 6 January 2021 (UTC)reply
Also to answer the question, there are two separate rivers named Rio Verde that are tributaries of the Guaporé, at least according to those Ministry maps, one is entirely in Rondônia (currently at
Rio Verde (Guaporé River tributary)) and the second and probably more significant one forms part of the Bolivia - Brazil border (currently at
Verde River (Mato Grasso)) and does not enter Rondônia, so no those shouldn't be merged, but there might need to be some renaming to clarify.

Hello
Ser Amantio di Nicolao. You recently added, with Cat-a-lot, the category "Women state legislators in Georgia (U.S. state)" to the pages
Amanda Gourgue and
Deanna Jurius. These are clearly not applicable categories, as these state legislators are in New Hampshire, and nothing on their pages mentions Georgia. We'll likely put something in News and notes. If you're at a loss for what to write, pretend I asked these questions: "How does it feel making the billionth edit on enWiki using Wikipedia's current software? What meaning does this have for you, or for the project as a whole? What were you thinking when you started editing "Death Breathing"? How soon after making the edit did you find out it was the billionth? How are you going to celebrate? Is there anybody you'd like to thank? How does this milestone compare to (any of your previous milestones)?
And here I thought I was fast in spotting that it was just made (a mere hour late)... Congratulations all around!

Would you be able to advise on the following situation? I would like to know if there are any ground rules for ANI cases, the way they are handled. I've just been blocked over a content issue by an editor who is not knowledgeable about the subject and has misunderstood a Talk page discussion. And subsequently they ignored my explanation. This reflects the whole procedure. Everybody here is very judgmental but not interested in checking the facts of the accusations, nor the counter evidence which has been completely ignored. I'll spare you the details for now because the background of the case is a dispute over fringe theories with a couple of believers, but it seems that rational thinking doesn't enter the equasion at any level. Nor do Wikipedia policies and guidelines for that matter. Are there no rules at all? Thank you.
Saflieni (

Saflieni: I'm not sure what you want of me, exactly? ANI has rules - but one of them is that sometimes it's just best to back away, instead of continuing to fight an issue. I would suggest you do that. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 06:52, 16 January 2021 (UTC)reply
Thanks, and I'm sure that would make sense under normal circumstances. But if regular people back away each time bullies and/or advocates make life difficult it becomes a process of natural selection favouring those attitudes and ideologies. It's already fifty shades of dishonesty in my experience. The negative impact on Wikipedia content is clearly visible, which is why I decided to stick it out in this specific case concerning fringe theories about genocide. That's a potentially dangerous issue to let slide, along with health and safety topics. Wikipedia was not created to end up as another source of misinformation on the internet, I believe.

Thank you
Redrose64. It's a ban, you are right. Cleared that up. Now the rest of it: I'm banned over a content dispute, which I explain
here. The block was for using the word lies in the context explained in
WP:IUC under 2d, but I agreed that my choice of language was too confrontational. I didn't use such words afterwards as far as I know so I guess they had to invent something else. In both cases (again: the first one deserved, the second not) it was an admin who had previously inserted themselves as parties in the discussion who blocked/banned me, which I find a questionable use of privileges.
Saflieni (

User:Saflieni - Either appeal the ban to
WP:AN, or don't appeal the ban. I tried to caution you that editors who complain about how unfair or unfriendly Wikipedia is usually find it to be an unfriendly place. You said that I was depersonalizing you. It appears that you are making it impossible to address your conduct, because you either deflect any criticism as depersonalizing, or counterattack that you are being personally attacked. You were topic-banned for your conduct in a content dispute. Content disputes complicated by user conduct are a common problem in Wikipedia, and sometimes can be dealt with by content resolution, and sometimes require a conduct remedy. You made it impossible to deal with the content, because of your conduct. (In my opinion, you got off easy. You were not blocked.) Either appeal the ban to
WP:AN, or don't appeal the ban, and stop discussing it.

Who's fighting? I've respectfully asked you a sincere question and have explained why. You were listed as an experienced editor available for advice. But here's one of the problems I'm facing. A few editors hound me all over Wikipedia to leave false accusations and the most horrible insults to paint me into a corner. Yet they never respond to my invitations to have a normal dialogue.
[3] It's the trolling behaviour you find everywhere where people interact from behind a computerscreen. They don't realize that the person on the other side is a flesh and blood human being. Robert McClenon's information is not true btw.
Saflieni (

Saflieni: I'm not accusing you of fighting with me. But this issue has been raised, and dealt with, at ANI...yet you're asking for more assistance from other editors after its resolution. Hence my advice. It's been dealt with at ANI. Leave it be.
If you want to overcome the topic block, look at
Wikipedia:Banning policy. In the meantime I would recommend lying low and doing the best, most non-controversial editing you can in other subject areas. After at least six months - preferably a few more - you can appeal for the block to be revised. But don't continue pushing the issue now - it will only aggravate matters further. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 17:31, 16 January 2021 (UTC)reply
Thank you, but I specifically asked about rules and regulations, not for your assistance in continuing the ANI case. The topic block isn't even my main concern either. My edits kept disappearing anyway - deleted, reverted, hashed up by the fringe theory advocates who managed to claim ownership of the page. I'm more concerned about the fifty shades I mentioned. There was no evidence, just allegations. Nobody bothered to read my defence nor check anything. In the end they massaged a minor content issue into something suggestive of ... well, still nothing worth mentioning. Yet everybody got really worked up, like a pelting mob. That can't be right. But anyway. Not your problem I guess. Good luck

No need to become unpleasant. The explanation of the editor who issued the ban shows me right (and then some):
[4]. No evidence, rebuttals ignored, allegations taken at face value, and a difference of opinions about content as reason for the ban. Isn't this the opposite of what ANI was intended for? So much for "all Wikipedians are equal". For anyone with a sense of fairness: The accusing party just explained to me last night that their polarizing language was not directed at genocide scholars as I thought, but at me personally.
[5] Combine that attitude with their shopping for blocks and bans at the Noticeboards where evidence is ignored and what do you get? It's a legitimate question. I'll try Arbcom again, but am now afraid it will be disrupted again like before.

Donoharm2021: I can take a look at the article, but I can make no guarantees. What you describe sounds suspiciously like ownership - see
WP:OWN for more information on that. Also, I have no higher credentials than many other editors - I've simply been here longer, and done more, than many other editors. That doesn't give me any special abilities. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 20:06, 21 January 2021 (UTC)reply
Thank you for looking. We are not looking to own the page, only to be able to edit and put protection if possible. I have seen that you added authority control to a few school pages that have had similar issues and maybe it helped? The page is Bulloch Academy. While we would love to have the content removed from the page altogether, we would be most grateful to have the harmful content pushed down so that this description does not show up in the sidebar when the school is searched on Google. At this point, all truthful information about the school has been removed from the page and we are blocked out of editing. We have gone through all of the suggested Wikipedia resolutions and have been met with many roadblocks. I’ll spare you of all of the heartache and phone calls that we have had from our minority students and parents who are upset and hurt by this action. Thank you for any help that you can offer.

@
Donoharm2021: There's really only one way to push the content you describe down the page, and that would be to expand the article to provide a fuller picture of the entirety of the school's history and curriculum. But the information to which you refer is sourced, and should not be removed. It would be better to contextualize it.
As the article is protected, you can request edits on the talk page. That is what I would do - ask people to add sections about curriculum, athletics, etc. (making sure to provide sources as necessary). Otherwise that's all I can suggest. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 20:33, 21 January 2021 (UTC)reply

Your edit to the Iain Banks page drew my attention to the list of Weird Fiction writers.
The list lacks references for many of the writers in the 1980-present section, including Iain Banks. I have been unable to find any reliable sources that cite Iain Banks as being a writer of Weird Fiction (the genre, as opposed to fiction that is a bit weird), and that is why I ended up reverting your edit on his page and also removing him from the list on the Weird Fiction writers page.
In an odd way, I'd like to thank you for drawing my attention to it, as trying to reference the 1980-present section properly will give me a nice little project to keep me occupied on an evening. :)

Hello! I'm writing to ask for your help expanding the new article on the
Napoleonic looting of art. I recently translated most of it from the Italian Wikipedia, and I'm hoping to improve it up to GA quality. One of the problems that the page has is that it is mostly written, currently, from an Italian perspective—it seems like the French Wikipedia article entry might be able to help with that, but I, alas, don't know the language. I saw your name on the French
WP: WikiProject Intertranswiki page and thought I'd ask. Would you be interested/available to help? Humbly, —WingedSerif (

Question: I am not sure how to handle this, and I would love your help, please, Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa., if you are willing. I was reading the page for Journey's Arrival album here:
/info/en/?search=Arrival_(Journey_album) and I notice that there is a full paragraph that seems to be plagiarized, but I do not know how to handle it, so I thought I would ask you. Namely, the Wikipedia page says:
(BLOCK QUOTE:) The album was first released in Japan in late 2000 but, due to Internet leakage, the band decided to delay its release in the United States. Based on feedback from fans who heard the leaked version, the band decided to record two harder rocking songs, "World Gone Wild" and "Nothin' Comes Close," which were included on the American version of the album, which now did not retain "I'm Not That Way" from the Japanese release.
but (for comparison) Journey's official homepage says:
(BLOCK QUOTE:) The album was originally first released in Japan in late 2000, but due to its leakage onto the Internet, the band decided to delay its release in the United States. Due to feedback from fans who heard the leaked version of Arrival, the band decided to record two harder rocking songs, which were included on the American version of the album. Arrival produced a minor adult contemporary hit with the ballad "All the Way", while rock fans were more satisfied with songs like "Higher Place" and the two new tracks on the American release, "World Gone Wild" and "Nothin' Comes Close".
I am not sure who made these edits on the page of Journey's album Arrival, but I thought you would probably be able to tell (more easily than I can tell) from the page edits, and I thought you might want to (please) take the appropriate action. It is blatant plagiarism, and I do not know how to report it, or even who posted this. Thank you very much for considering! I would (please) welcome your help with this.
P.S. Your editorial work on Wikipedia is really amazing. I'm learning a great deal from reading about your editorial work!

Why are very few users able to edit this article? Why are edits reverted to many users and a few users can edit without their edits being reversed?
HAL333 Why can this user remove content without having to explain anything on the talk page? Many well-intentioned users are unable to edit this article because this user reverts most users' edits. Thank you for explaining. Would that apply to all directors from Rome or any other city in Italy, that as soon as they'd appear in a list of their city, they would be removed from the list of Italian directors? I think if one only created enough lists for all the Italian cities, the list of Italian directors would then be empty. I am sorry if I make my point badly, but this still appears strange to me. Stamp assessments
In all my years here I've never understood why any editor would bother add a blank Philately WikiProject assessment to stamp images on the enwiki. It serves no purpose to the project overall and really provides nothing useful. The project does not specifically rate images considering there are so few on the enwiki anyway: some non-free and a few that are not PD outside the US. The place for most stamps images is on the commons and we don't rate them there. The NA quality class mainly contains templates, redirects and some images.

Hi, thanks for your article on East Camp and St Athan in general.
I live in this area, I must say, these houses are not 1958 prefabs, nor are they the ones used as accommodation for the 1958 games.
The mostly wooden camp accommodation on the base was used, photos are available online.
The lego land houses were mostly built from poured concrete main structures, with built-on cavity wall porches, utility rooms and bathrooms.
Pre-fabs are pre fabricated and then assembled or even delivered whole.
The deeds for my street show 1968/69 as the build for the houses.
I have a downloaded image of the entrance to the competitors village from one of the news paper archives, showing the layout, quite primitive!

Was this a Cat-a-lot error?
The category you added in
this diff was for year of birth missing, but the year of birth is indicated in the lede, as usual for biography articles. And the 1954 births category already exists in the article. Did the tool you're using mess up?

Even weirder, I just noticed that you made
an edit right before that that removed the very category you then added back in? So I guess it was already on there probably from early in the article and didn't get removed once the year was put in. Which still doesn't explain how it ended up on your list if the missing birth year category was already there anyways. :P

Becoming English
Good morning! I see you have added the category 20th-century English male writers to the
Edward Knoblock article. There are other categories there already that also label him "English". I wonder if this is right? He was undoubtedly a naturalised British citizen, but can one become English (or Welsh or Scottish for that matter)? Not a matter of great import but it looks a bit odd to me. Tim riley talk 08:27, 18 March 2021 (UTC)reply

Tim riley: Thanks for pointing it out - I've fixed it. In my experience such things usually happen when one "English" category was added to the article, way back when - subsequent edits disseminate it further. Hi there (and sorry this is so long!)
Checking in about the Dictionary of Women Worldwide since I know you’ve been busy and may not have seen latest, but wanted to give you a chance to weigh in if you’re still interested! Current status: editor Antiqueight has a great Excel-based method for turning the index into a list of wiki links, but we just don’t have the volunteer power to check and remove all the blue links in 25,000 names. In 10 days of doing almost nothing else on wiki, I hardly made a dent. Meanwhile Gamaliel has a semi-automated way to put the redlinks into Wikidata, but needs the blue links removed first. You and I had discussed the utility of finding and listing stubs among the blue links, and of course one finds some (<5%) misdirects, although often the corrected version is still a blue link, so finding a red link among the blue links is quite rare, I estimate <1% of all the names. I still think these would be valuable in an ideal world, but our present mechanisms and volunteer capacity just don’t make it possible to process them. I am thinking to ask Antiqueight only to give us red links—unless you have the interest and/or innovation for a good way to process the blue links more quickly, which it occurs to me you might! Currently they are saved to
User:Innisfree987/Dictionary_of_Women_Worldwide_blue_links, if you want to test any methods there. At the main redlist page we are just removing all the blue links without checking and unfortunately even doing that manually is very slow, which is why I’m thinking to ask Antiqueight not to give them to us at all, if that’s possible on their end. Ok let me know if anything here is unclear (probably!) and what you’re thinking, if you’re still interested. Cheers,

Redux—Greetings! I imagine you have moved on to other projects at this point but just in case the 25,000 women still interest, we never ended up finding a way to automate the separation of red and blue links, and so kept a copy of all: they can be found
A-D,
E-M, and
N-R, so far. Once finish doing the red links, I am going to be pretty tapped out but one certainly could make valuable use of the blue links especially if there were a way to go through them quickly. Many stubs could really use the addition of this reference to solidify their case for being in the ‘pedia! Anyway, just to let you know what’s out there. Maybe let me know if you might want to use them (and you’d be free to do so any way you wished!); I just might not keep them indefinitely if no one has plans for them. Cheers!

(He planned on a second volume, I suppose for artists born after 1900, but he died before that could come to fruition.) I did some more digging online, and found a few more dribs and drabs that might be of some use: she was friends with Anne Truitt, who took a job teaching at the
Madeira School on Rankine's suggestion (see
this PDF); she also went by Elvine Magruder for a time (according to
this); she had a piece in the collection of the
Corcoran Gallery that is now, after that museum's disbursal, in the collection of the
American University Museum (see

There were cast-concrete figures by Stirling Calder and Samuel Murray (Eakins's protegee) on a tall building here in Phila. They were removed in the 1950s. The Calder figures were placed in the garden of

I don't expect the irrational exuberance of the 1920s, but a modest boom followed by a recession. The Spanish Flu hit mostly children and young adults, and viruses weren't identified until after WW2. My grandfather lost a younger sister (for whom my cousin was named), and my grandmother lost a younger brother (for whom my father was named). Philadelphia was the epicenter for the 2nd (and worst) wave of the epidemic. I re-read a journal kept by a local artist. October 1918 was the worst month, with the city's streets empty during the day, save the occasional Model T with a coffin sticking out of the back. The city gave away free coffins, but one had to transport it to the cemetery yourself. ==

BoringHistoryGuy: I'm no economist, so take this with a grain of salt, but I suspect the boom is going to be quite a bit bigger than modest. I think we've seen so many people cooped up indoors for so long that there's going to be an explosion of spending, at least for the first couple of weeks, when they get back into the world - on things like restaurant visits, shopping trips for luxuries, that sort of thing. Add in the summer travel season and the fact that there are a lot of people who've been building up savings, and I think the odds for a rocket of a boom are going to be pretty decent. That will spend itself out, though, and there'll be some kind of stagnation, if not a full recession, after.
I have 2 brothers-in-law who are economists (and curiously, they have the same first name). Of course, with all the money being pumped into the economy there will be some sort of boom. But between vaccine deniers and Evangelical Christians resistant to taking the vaccine, we may never reach herd immunity, nationally. So there may be places with persistent outbreaks, that miss out on much of the boom. Probably better for Blue states than Red. ==
BoringHistoryGuy (

BoringHistoryGuy: I agree, there's bound to be some kind of a boom...I just think it's going to involve more than just the money being pumped into the economy. As for herd immunity, I remain optimistic (which is not my wont, usually); I keep hearing that the number of people, in surveys, who refuse to take the vaccine keeps going down, so I think we'll reach a point where society can open up reasonably well, for the most part. I think there may be an outbreak here or there, but nothing that can't be handled by the current medical system. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 02:54, 8 April 2021 (UTC)reply

Possibly: Hmmmmm...that's a tuffy. It has worth, as far as a way of organizing the information. That being said, I'm not convinced a category is the best way of organizing the material. For one thing, it'll be a huge category: for another thing, any such category is likely to be huge given the numbers of artists involved. Thirdly, there are artists for whom a ton of these categories could be created and populated, which I don't think is particularly helpful.
Is there another similar category? My own feeling is that this would likely be better served as a list article, or a series of list articles, rather than a category. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 14:32, 20 April 2021 (UTC)reply

Possibly: Well, the advantage to lists is that they can be split up once they get too long. There is some precedent for that, though I don't know specifically as to museum collections...though I don't see any reason why not create a list of artists in a museum collection.
And if it makes you feel any better, categories are still opaque to me, too, and I've been fiddling around with them for years, now. Much of what I've picked up has been learned by doing. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 03:35, 23 April 2021 (UTC)reply
In
this edit, and massive numbers of other such articles, you've added
Category:20th-century American people, which appears to be a top-level parent category. Will every person who lived in the 20th century be added to this category?

I've seen the two "explanations" before, but
Category:20th-century American people is exactly the kind of category that should be fully diffused; every person should fall into at least one subcategory. The 20th century is Wikipedia's densest century in terms of biographical articles and we could end up with tens of thousands of articles in this parent.

Awa Manneh
Hi there! You seem to be a busy guy, so I'll get straight to the point.
What was your reason for removing R&B/soul singer, Awa Manneh, from the Category:Swedish female singers?
Manneh was born in Sweden and still resides there and as far as I know she is a woman.
I noticed that she was added to several similar caegories, so thought that the above mentioned category might be obsolete?

Hi, I personally disagree with this logic. For example, if I were to move to the US and live there for, say, three years, I would be a "Lebanese emigrant to the United States", but I wouldn't automatically become an "American" (thus, be under American people of Lebanese descent). There are American people of Lebanese descent who have never lived in the US (so, only descent category), there are Lebanese emigrants to the US who don't have US citizenship (only emigrant category), and there are emigrants who have citizenship (both categories).
Nehme1499 13:21, 21 May 2021 (UTC)reply
Ok got it. So, if someone moved to a country and becamea citizen of that country, he is an "emigrant" . If he didn't gain citizenship, he is an "expatriate". What if he was already a citizen of countries X and Y, was born in X and moved to Y: is he an X emigrant to Y? Also, is there no case at all where an article might be both part of a child and parent category at the same time?
Nehme1499 16:20, 21 May 2021 (UTC)reply
@
Nehme1499: To the first question: I'm not sure if that's the legally-binding way to describe it, but in my experience that seems to be generally how the categorization scheme works here (I'm sure there are some exceptions for people who are long-term residents who never take out citizenship, but that tends to get more complicated).
To the second: in a case like that I would generally, personally, avoid using the word "emigrant" to describe someone in such a situation. (A person who, say, is born to American parents in Italy, and returns with them to the United States at the age of ten, is, to me, "American" more than they are "Italian".)
Thanks. For a couple of practical examples:
Lary Mehanna was born in Lebanon to a Lebanese father and a French mother. He has moved back and forth between Lebanon and France; therefore, he should just have the Lebanese people of French descent, and French people of Lebanese descent categories, correct? It wouldn't make sense for him to be an "emigrant" to France, as he is already a French citizen.
Theo Bücker, on the other hand, if a German-born German, who has lived in Lebanon for over a decade, also marrying a Lebanese woman (but not obtaining citizenship). He would be your aforementioned "exception", who should have the German emigrants to Lebanon category despite not having obtained citizenship?
Nehme1499 16:49, 21 May 2021 (UTC)reply
@
Nehme1499:Lary Mehanna I would not describe as an emigrant to France, correct - if he has claimed French citizenship since birth, then he's not really an "emigrant".
Theo Bücker is tricky; I'm not sure I would use the word "emigrant" to describe him, because he has never taken out citizenship. On the other hand, I can see the argument for using the word to describe him, yes. Where has the bulk of his career been spent? To me, the example I was thinking of was someone like
Gian-Carlo Menotti - born in Italy, and died in Scotland, but spent the bulk of his career in the United States. He never took out American citizenship, but almost all of his music was written in the United States, and he was very definitely an American composer.
I would be happy to use citizenship (or, in a sense, de facto citizenship, such as someone commonly being defined as being "American" despite legally not being so) as the discriminator between the emigrant and expatriate categories. It would be a good idea to note these nuances somewhere, maybe at the top of each expatriate/emigrant category. We already have templates such as {{
Fooian expatriate sportspeople in Bar cat}}, so it might be a good idea to overhaul the whole expatriate/emigrant categories to also just use templates ({{
Fooian expatriate people in Bar cat}}), and place some sort of note within the template itself, so that it displays in all categories (without having to do so manually).

Removing "Category:20th-century African-American people" from
Louis E. Burnham?
I wondered why you removed the Category:20th-century African-American people from
Louis E. Burnham. I speculate that it's because that category is too general for someone who is in other African-American categories already. Perhaps Category:20th-century African-American people is meant for other African-Americans who aren't in more specific African-American categories... I just don't know, but I'm curious about it. I probably have an excessively proprietary attitude towards this article.
Incidentally, in the USA, African-American tends to mean Black people in the USA. But this is a parochial definition, as the words refer to Black people in the New World; just as people in the USA nearly always, and parochially, mean "USA," when they say "America." It's not necessarily what people in, say, Colombia mean by America. (I can't cite a reference for "America" in Colombia. I did hear this many decades ago...) For more on this point of view, see

Dogdad3 (
talk·contribs) added political ideology ratings to a bunch of politician's pages, referencing the American Conservative Union but occasionally other organizations as well. These seem to me fairly anodyne additions. I've seen such interest group ratings many times in Wikipedia pages, also ratings from the Lugar Center and 538.
But all of Dogdad3's additions have been reverted. Here is an example
diff.
I'm not understanding the reason for these reverts, except that some of the original edits were mistakenly marked as minor. I have added a couple of similar edits over the years myself. Since you did some of the reverts, and I recognize and respect your work, I figured to come here to ask you. --

Thank you for the ping. While I am not opposed to ideology ratings as a concept, I believe they should be used to serve a purpose. For example, the NRA releases ratings for politicians that can be helpful to understand where a politician stands on gun-related issues. The same can be said for NARAL on abortion-related issues and NORML for marijuana-related issues. The ideology scores being added were from the "The American Conservative Union's Center for Legislative Accountability," which only seems to measure conservatism among right-leaning politicians. It may be helpful for a reader to know if a politician is pro- or anti-marijuana, but it does not seem helpful to know that a Republican politician is 91% conservative according to the American Conservative Union. I tend to avoid labelling edits as "spam" or "vandalism" unless absolutely necessary or obvious. In this case, it is clear from Dogdad3's edit history that, after adding their ideology scores, they followed them with edits correcting pronouns. (
here,
here,
here). This leads me to believe that they maybe copy-and-pasting the same paragraph across many pages.

KidAd:Your reasoning does not make sense as to why publishing transparent political ratings would not be beneficial. The political rating scale measures every politician on a scale from 0-100 and is quite literally the most transparent and easily accessible way to truly see the voting records of US politicians. "Ideology ratings need to serve a purpose", I would like you to explain how giving transparency to readers on how a politician voted beyond classifying them as Republican or Democrat does not serve a purpose. You also can not claim that they "looked spammy" when it would make much more sense for that type of information to be readily available on every politician as opposed to just a couple. All that removing these ratings is doing is withholding valuable and intricate information from readers who go to the Wikipedia page of a certain politician.

True, he conducted a performance of an early piece when a student in 1897, but to the extent that he was a conductor at all (not a very good one according to his friends and colleagues) it was in the 20th century.
