Sorry, to revert your edit. I know you put in a lot of work. See talk page on article for probable reason for albums going out of date. They probably will be reissued under a new label. I think this was also the case with some of his albums in (1997). He probably changed labels about May 2006 so maybe they will be reissued in May 2007. Only guessing. I was adding a paragraph to the article explaining and referencing what was probably going on with the albums not knowing you were reverting the edit at the same time. Something sure messed up. and I reverting it back to the previous edit. If you want to discuss this issue before once again reverting my edit please let's do so on my talk page. I have worked long and hard on this to get it to where it can maybe get a GA rating and I feel like your edit is not done in an encyclopedia style as is required. Please answer back on my talk page. You added links between George Russell and Gail Russell pages. Are you sure they are actually related? George Russell's family is Ohio-based (see the Background section) and he attended Wilberforce University in Ohio, whereas Gail Russell is from a Chicago family. Dear PJtP,

I am not the fellow who reverted your recent edit to Wp's article on 2001: A Space Odyssey. I have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand Google lists "They Shoot Pictures" as a possibly malicious-software website, and it is a little known web-site, at least in the USA.

On the other hand, I looked at it, and I think it is an utterly superb web-page, and was glad to have my attention drawn to it. It seems like a legitimate undertaking, and they seem to have tried to take into account many previous polls (rather than just airing their own opinion) to assemble their list of great films.

Query: Is this site better known in Australia (it's home) than here in America? And do you know of any good reason why Google may have gotten a "false positive" re their listing it as a site that "might harm your computer"?

Personally, I would sort of like to see this reference restored to the WP 2001 page. But one would need a good rationale, as to what makes it a notable site, and some explanation of why Google lists it as a possibly harmful site.

Hi there. That's some interesting info on the singles for The Worst of Jefferson Airplane collection, but it has nothing to do with the album. The only single version used on this compilation was "Martha." Everything else is from the album versions and mixes. Somebody to Love and White Rabbit are in stereo (singles were mono), The Ballad of You & Me & Pooneil's single version was only about 3 minutes, etc. Also, track listing goes above personnel according to WP:ALBUM, and we shouldn't split up the original vinyl track listing even though the CD version did. If you are going to add a template to warn of a lack of references, please select one and add it rather than adding two ({{ refimprove}}, {{ no footnotes}}).

I reverted you addition of two templates to the head of the English Civil War as the {{ citation needed}} templates are more specific and help other editors know what the editor who placed them there thinks does and does not need citations. If there are specific templates then a general template is not needed.

I reverted you edit to the New Model Army because there is already an notice of no sources in the References section which has been there since May 2009. Hi! I have reverted your edit to The Byrds Untitled album because as per the manual of style at WP:LEAD, "The lead serves both as an introduction to the article and as a summary of the important aspects of the subject of the article. The lead should be able to stand alone as a concise overview of the article. It should define the topic, establish context, explain why the subject is interesting or notable, and summarize the most important points—including any notable controversies."

As such, some repetition of information is inevitable and perfectly acceptable in a properly written Wikipedia article, although ideally the lead should only provide an overview, with more detail appearing later on in the article. I just thought that I should point this out because you'll find that any good Wikipedia article, especially if it's been certified as a Good Article or a Featured Article is going to have this kind of repetition in it. Therefore, removing large sections of text to avoid repetition between the lead and the main body of the article is not in line with the Wikipedia Manual of Style or current GA and FA criteria and should be avoided. • Hi. I'm not sure what you were trying to do with that, but you should not move articles by cutting and pasting, because that loses the attribution to all the previous contributors contained in the article history, which we are required by the license terms to maintain. If a title is to be changed, it should be done by using the "move" tab at the top of the screen. But we don't normally put a disambiguation term like (Joe Nichols song) into a title unless it's necessary to distinguish from other similarly titled articles. I have reviewed and passed the nomination for this article. It was only when checking the artcile history at the end of the review that I noticed taht you only seem to have made one edit to the article. The hard work was done by User:Kohoutek1138. I just undid your edits to Quiet Nights (Miles Davis and Gil Evans album) and Quiet Nights (album) as I thought this was a cut/paste move. It does seem you have just started a new article at Quiet Nights (album). You should make your edits directly to the Quiet Nights (Miles Davis and Gil Evans album) page, even if it involves wholesale change. This is so that the article history is clearly preserved. Quiet Nights (album) is an unsuitable title for the page as there are 3 articles on Wikipedia about albums called Quiet Nights. I have changed or reverted some of your edits on articles associated with The Left Banke because it seems that you are largely unfamiliar with the Wikipedia manual of style for album articles. For example, the letter "a" should not be capitalised in song titles and punctuation, such as full stops, should fall out side quotation marks in song titles. Also, we don't use the "#" sign to denote number in music articles either.

In addition, you have added an awful lot of information that is completely unsourced. Pretty much all text on Wikipedia should ideally display inline citations that indicate reliable, third-party sources. I would also recommend that you learn how to use proper citation templates and how to use multiple copies of the same reference by naming them -- thus avoiding repetition in the references list at the foot of an article. As if all that wasn't enough, I see that you've also discarded and deleted perfectly good, reliable citations that were already in place, for no adequately explained reason.

Also, the name of The Left Banke's 1992 compilation is not There's Gonna Be A Storm, it is There's Gonna Be a Storm: The Complete Recordings 1966–1969. Under the guidelines laid out at WP:ALBUM and WP:NAME, this full title should be used in the article name, in much the same way as in the Nuggets: Original Artyfacts from the First Psychedelic Era, 1965–1968 article. As a result of this misnaming, the article will now have to be moved. Incidentally, you could do worse that check out the criteria for notability in music articles, because a good case could be made for this Left Banke compilation not meeting any of the criteria, meaning that the article shouldn't have been created in the first place.

I suggest that if you're going to continue to edit music-related articles on Wikipedia that you take time to familiarise yourself with the guidelines and policy laid out at the music manual of style, WikiProject Albums and Wikipedia:WikiProject Songs, because at the moment, you're just making extra work for those of us who do have a handle on how album articles should be formatted on Wikipedia. -- Kohoutek1138 ( talk) 21:49, 6 September 2011 (UTC) reply

The Dylan album of 1973, made up of outtakes from the Self Portrait and New Morning album sessions of 1970, was compiled by Columbia Records after Dylan temporarily jumped ship and signed to Asylum Records in late 1973. Dylan had no hand in its production or selection; it was made up of leftovers from earlier sessions; it was not the result of a deliberate effort in the studio on Dylan's part. The Basement Tapes were compiled by Robbie Robertson of The Band eight years after the sessions took place mostly in the Big Pink basement celebrated in the album so named. Again, this was done after the fact, in this case to allow the copyright holders to market material that was appearing continually on bootlegs. Technically, Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid should also be taken out of studio albums and placed in a new soundtracks section. But it seems silly to create a new section for just one album. From the current article text:

From the link about intellectual property rights, you'll see that that the Nobel Foundation says it defends their use of the term "Nobel Prize" very strictly, yet they somehow haven't tried to defend themselves against anyone who uses the term "Nobel Prize" to refer to the economics Nobel. That it's "erroneous" to call this prize a Nobel Prize in Economics (which the owner of the term "Nobel Prize" itself seems consider one of its prizes) is an opinion. I've been seeing your edits adding to the section "Most top ten singles from one album". The reason why Ericorbit, and myself, had to shorten the list was because it is too long compared to the other lists in the article, and it has been discussed in the past that the lists should be limited to the top 10 entries (unless there should be a tie, in which case more can be added as long as it's not excessive). When you added the group of those which had 4 from one album, the list was already at 12 entries for those who had 5 or more, and 5 is what completed the top 10, even though there ended up being more than 10. So adding those with 4 is excessive, and I am going to remove it one more time. If you disagree with this removal, bring it up on the article's talk page as to why you feel this list should be given undue weight in the article.

Also, take a look at this edit summary comment from Mmrsofgreen [2]. You need to provide reliable sources for this information you are adding; original research is not permitted via Wikipedia policy. Please state only why your view regarding the necessary composition of the band in terms of its "definition" is more authoritative than that of the band who currently touring under that name with reference specifically to published sources that corroborate your view. Greetings, PJtP! Thanks for creating the Woodstock – Back to the Garden: 50th Anniversary Experience article. It's quite nice. My one suggestion would be that when you create a new article, it's a good idea to include several reliable third-party references as footnotes (such as the ones that I've added to that article). Otherwise there's a fair chance that someone will submit the article to WP:ADF, on the basis that it does not fulfill WP:GNG. Yes, it's a bunch of Wikipedia abbreviations! The point being that, according to said GNG -- the general notability guideline -- "A topic is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article or list when it has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject".
