I will ask only one question: What is the source for the sentence "he was reduced in rank to patrolman, his pay was cut by $1000 and he was transferred to Long Island City by police commissioner John F. O'Ryan"? --

Oh, that was a Herald Tribune article, 2/6/34. It footnoted the preceding sentence and I just moved it over, as it sources both sentences.
