That New York city Fleet Week section is redundant and biased. "Most Well Known Fleet Week"?? To whom? New Yorkers? I will just remove the section and roll the new information into the main article. Please discuss if you feel that was unnecessary.

Fine by me, sitting in Hells Kitchen, half a mile from this week's Fleet Week action. Incidentally, labelling the www.fleetweek.mil site as being about New York is a subtle error. I recommend spin off the listing of ships at Fleetweek for New York City, my recommendation is based on the expectation that mmaybe someone starts doing the listing for the event. When does Fleetweek usually occur for New York- how much variation for the time of year it occurs? That is a fact I was expecting to find. I have no objection to the "Most Well Known Fleet Week" label. I expect ships dock in location to get a lot of attention. Also park of it swell lknow is based on population and size of the city. I have provided an image and a reference for a Fleet Week (given for US ships, nota bene) held in Auckland, New Zealand, in 1908. This article says 1935 was the first Fleet Weel. Similarly I've found text that the first stateside version of Fleet Week began not in San Diego but in Charleston, SC nearly 25 years before the first San Diego fleet week. http://query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=9D0CEEDD133CE633A25754C1A9669D946396D6CF provides verification. What is the source of the alleged one million visitors, specifically to the bay front? As a Bay Area resident I find this impossible to believe. the article states the first fleet week was in 1935 but the caption to the photo next to it declares fleet week was celebrated in Auckland in 1908.
