The Greater Bandung Commuter Line ( Indonesian: Commuter Line Bandung Raya) is one of the two main commuter rail lines on the Bandung metropolitan area in West Java, Indonesia. The line starts at Padalarang or Purwakarta station and ends at Cicalengka station. It is currently operated by KAI Commuter, the subsidiary of Kereta Api Indonesia, which is the previous operator of the line.
This service is the successor of Patas AC Bandung Raya business class train, which was opened in 1997. Due to low occupancy, the service was closed in 16 January 2015, but reopened on 5 May 2016. Eventually, the service was permanently closed on 1 November 2018. [1] [2] It was replaced by the Greater Bandung Local Train (Kereta Api Lokal Bandung Raya) at the same time, which is an economy class.[ clarification needed] Along with the implementation of the 2023 Train Travel Chart (GAPEKA), the service was renamed to its current name, Greater Bandung Commuter Line on 1 June 2023. [3]
It is also planned that the line will be electrified in 2024, with the first stage from Padalarang to Bandung. [4] [5]
The Greater Bandung Commuter Line fare is IDR 5.000 for one trip (flat fare). [6] Passengers can book the ticket via Access by KAI app, which is valid for of 7 days and 2 hours before the departure.
