governor of California . Incumbent
Democratic Governor
Gavin Newsom will be term-limited and ineligible to seek reelection. Incumbent Lieutenant Governor
Eleni Kounalakis , incumbent Superintendent of Public Instruction
Tony Thurmond , former
California Senate president pro tempore
Toni Atkins , and former Controller
