Hi, greetings! About the page List of cities proper by population I just wanted to tell you that the last population you put as of 2010 is metropolitan and you know no metropolitan areas are suitable for city proper. The modified registred-based estimation counts the metropolitan areas of the administrative centers which is all cities and towns in the entire provinces except villages and this population is actually the population of the province without the villages. You can check in the site of the Statistical Institute and if you compare the 2000 data of citypopulation.de: Province - 10,018,735 ; City - 8,803,468 and 2010: Province - 13,255,685, City - 12,946,730 you see the difference between city and province in 2010 is negligible. - Currently the administrative city encompasses most of the province except for a handful of cities. Aside from the population growth, the city boundaries were also enlarged, and this is why the province and administrative city limits are now almost the same. The reference to "United Nations World Population Prospects: 2006 revision – Table A.17 for 2005-2010" leads us only to the average Life expectacy between male and female. I restored March Route of Rochambeau's Army: Old Canterbury Road, an article which you have a couple times obliterated by redirecting, in what appears to be a low-grade edit war. This article is linked now from Plainfield, Connecticut, National Register of Historic Places listings in Windham County, Connecticut and from Washington–Rochambeau Revolutionary Route (and also from User talk:Polaron/Archive1 ).
You've noted in edit summaries that the site is "described" in the Rochambeau route article, but brief mention in the text there is immaterial to whether an article about the historic site in Plainfield can exist. It's a notable topic; there is a linked NRHP document and a map in the article already, which were obliterated for readers by your redirects. There's a whole lot more detail that can be added. I will proceed to develop the article. I suggest if you disagree, that you open an AFD about the article, which could conceivably result in it being redirected. But I expect the consensus of editors will be that the article is obviously notable and it will be kept. Or, we could have an RFC about the question, to attract other editors.
As you know, there are 4 more similar articles, which I also intend to restore:
- March Route of Rochambeau's Army: Manship Road-Barstow Road
- March Route of Rochambeau's Army: Palmer Road

- Whatever your idea, your proceeding unilaterally to try to implement something is not good, hence the current edit warring noticeboard. I personally am interested in these historic sites and have devoted some time to developing materials about them. What do you think, your obliterating a bunch of articles is gonna be happily accepted. Your bland assurance that nothing is lost is not true; specifically you lost geographic code information and NRHP infoboxes and you disconnected a bunch of inbound links from Connecticut town and village articles and NRHP list-articles. Even without my checking to see whether you lost more basic text and references. Notice: 2010 Standards for Delineating Metropolitan and Micropolitan Statistical Areas made a number of significant changes to the rules for identifying principal cities. We should update the article to reflect these rule changes.
A less important point is that OMB Bulletin No. 13-01: Revised Delineations of Metropolitan Statistical Areas, Micropolitan Statistical Areas, and Combined Statistical Areas, and Guidance on Uses of the Delineations of These Areas identified principal cities for every Metropolitan Statistical Area, Micropolitan Statistical Area, Combined Statistical Area, Metropolitan Division, New England City and Town Area, Combined New England City and Town Area, and New England City and Town Area Division; not just the Core Based Statistical Areas and New England City and Town Areas as the article states.

I noticed that you merged Hortonville, Massachusetts with Hortonville Historic District recently. The merge is fine with me, but shouldn't the title be Hortonville, Massachusetts, since that's the common name for the area (at least according to the NRHP documentation? - Good question. I don't know who placed those coordinates but they don't match that given in the GNIS for the civil division of Haverhill. That village is the original settlement but never really developed. The vast majority of the town civic history takes place in the town center, which is North Haverhill. You reverted a number of my edits with no explanation anywhere. I removed the Villages category when nothing in the text of the article indicated the place was a village. A census designated place is not the same as a village. And categories cannot be used unless the text of the article supports category inclusion. Thanks Hmains ( talk) 01:42, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
- You removed the village category from actual villages. Just because the article currently does not explicitly say it does not negate its being a village. In Connecticut, anything that is not a municipality is a village or neighborhood. Census-designated places are a secondary label that some villages also happen to have. In fact, census-designated places should be made a subcategory of villages since some villages are CDPs while others are not. --

- CDP are an independent category structure and they may be towns, villages, parts of cities or towns, or just unincorporated areas. The national category structure shows this. Your statement that these populated places are villages does not stand up to the requirement in the WP category rules that a category must be supported by text in the article. No text; no category. I have a suggestion. Sometimes, different users (mostly new users) try to change the articles, add false/incorrect data or correct data with other sources - without discussions and consensuses. The CommonsLab is the concluding "upload party" to the Wikipedia @ Open House New York Weekend photo scavenger hunt, and an accompanying Wikimedia Commons multimedia hackathon. The event will take the form of a modified unconference, with sessions for photographers/creatives, editors/writers and hackers/software folks!

 Join us for a full Saturday of social Wikipedia editing at the Museum of Modern Art (drop-in any time!), during which we will create, update, and improve Wikipedia articles pertaining to the lives and works of Latin American artists. The WikiArte (Wiki Arte y Cultura Latinoamerica) edit-a-thon is a global campaign to improve Wikipedia's coverage of Latin American arts and culture and to counter geocultural systemic bias on Wikipedia. Featuring an opening Artists' Panel at 10am, with Sol Aramendi, Sharon Lee De La Cruz, and Marisa Morán Jahn, to be moderated by Rocío Aranda-Alvarado, curator at El Museo del Barrio. The Museum of Modern Art and Fundacion Cisneros/Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros are uniting with international allies to focus on the lives and works of Latin American artists, architects and designers. With keystone events scheduled for October 22 in New York City and other cities throughout the month (Mexico City, Buenos Aires, Caracas, & others), the campaign aims to further similar goals to Art+Feminism. All are invited, with no specialized knowledge of the subject or Wikipedia editing experience required. Introductory training on the basics of Wikipedia editing will be given throughout the edit-a-thon. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

On Saturday December 3, 2016, in conjunction with a global campaign, the Guggenheim will host its fifth Wikipedia edit-a-thon—or, #guggathon—to enhance Wikipedia's coverage of modern and contemporary artists from Greater China. The event will cap off Wikipedia Asian Month, an online campaign dedicated to augmenting Asian content on Wikipedia throughout November. New and experienced editors are welcome. The event will include a training session for participants who are new to Wikipedia, and Wikipedia specialists will be on hand to provide basic instruction and editing support. Editors are invited to view the exhibition Tales of Our Time following the event. The Guggenheim aims to raise awareness of the artists featured in the Tales of Our Time exhibition supported by The Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Chinese Art Initiative, and build on the model of campaigns like the Wikipedia Edit-a-thon at the Guggenheim: Women in Architecture, Wikipedia Edit-a-thon at the Guggenheim: Contemporary Art of the Middle East and North Africa, and Art+Feminism.

Cullman Education and Research Building at the Museum of Modern Art, 4 West 54th Street, on Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for an all-day communal updating of Wikipedia entries on subjects related to art and feminism. There will be childcare, snacks, multiple trainings and panel discussions. People of all gender identities and expressions welcomed and encouraged to attend. This year’s edit-a-thon kicks off at 10:00 a.m. with a conversation about information activism with writer Joanne McNeil and Data & Society Research Institute Fellow Zara Rahman, moderated by Kimberly Drew, the social media manager for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, creator of the Tumblr “Black Contemporary Art,” and the person behind @museummammy on Instagram.  On the last Sunday of every month, the Boardroom at Ace Hotel New York hosts Action Equals History — a unique opportunity for New Yorkers to learn hands-on in a technology training/workshop session about the mechanics, practices and benefits of Wikipedia and the Wikimedia projects. This is an opportunity for all to gather, share and work collectively towards a more robust account of history. For this month, and following on the recent Art+Feminism campaign, we'll focus on building better edit-a-thon tools for a variety of different thematic campaigns, and user-testing them with the community. Towards a goal of advancing these tools for wider use with diverse local groups.

The Met is excited to make available over 375,000 images of public domain artworks for contribution to Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons from the museum’s collection spanning 5,000 years of art. The event is an opportunity for Wikimedia communities to engage The Met's diverse collection onsite and remotely.  The Wikipedia Asian Month Edit-a-thon @ The Met will be the Metropolitan Museum of Art's second edit-a-thon, hosted on Sunday November 19, 2017 in the Bonnie Sacerdote Classroom, Ruth and Harold D. Uris Center for Education (81st Street entrance) at The Met Fifth Avenue in New York City. Following the first Met edit-a-thon in May 2017, the museum is excited to work with Wikipedia Asian Month for the potential to seed new articles about Asian artworks, artwork types, and art traditions, from any part of Asia. These can be illustrated with thousands of its recently-released images of public domain artworks available for Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons from the museum’s collection spanning 5,000 years of art. The event is an opportunity for Wikimedia communities to engage The Met's diverse Asian collections onsite and remotely.
Attendees should bring their own laptops and power cords. Light snacks, drinks and cake will be provided. We also welcome remote participation for the global online Wikipedia Asian Art Month, running November 1-30. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

 Translat-a-thon NYC 2019 @ LaGuardia Community College is hosting the second annual Wikipedia Translatathon! At this event on Thursday evening and during the day Friday this week, anyone from the public is invited to LaGuardia to join students, professors, and CUNY faculty in translating Wikipedia articles among any languages which attendees understand. Themes for this event include public health and the history of New York City. New York City has a large immigrant population and great diversity of speakers of various languages. Among all schools in New York City, LaGuardia has the highest percentage of immigrant students, the highest percentage of students who speak a language other than English as their first language, and the greatest representation of language diversity. It is a strength of LaGuardia that it can present "Wikipedia translatathons", which are Wikipedia translation events. | |

The Wikipedia Asian Month Edit-a-thon @ The Met will be hosted at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Saturday November 16, 2019 in the Bonnie Sacerdote Classroom, Ruth and Harold D. Uris Center for Education (81st Street entrance) at The Met Fifth Avenue in New York City. The museum is excited to work with Wikipedia Asian Month for the potential to seed new articles about Asian artworks, artwork types, and art traditions, from any part of Asia. These can be illustrated with thousands of its recently-released images of public domain artworks available for Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons from the museum’s collection spanning 5,000 years of art. The event is an opportunity for Wikimedia communities to engage The Met's diverse Asian collections onsite and remotely. Asia Art Archive will host a sister event in Hong Kong next week.
