Barker Dam is a water-storage facility located in
Joshua Tree National Park in
California. The
dam was constructed by early cattlemen, and is situated between Queen Valley and the Wonderland of Rocks near the Wall Street Mill. It is a gathering place for desert wildlife, including many species of birds and
Desert Bighorn Sheep.

Nine Sisters or the Morros are a chain of nine volcanic peaks and hills between
Morro Bay and
San Luis Obispo,
California. They are popular with
photographers and
rock climbers. Their volcanic origin makes them of significant
geological interest, and they also support a wide variety of plant, animal, and bird life.

Port of Redwood City is a marine freight terminal on the western side of the southern
San Francisco Bay, on the
West Coast of the United States. This marine terminal is situated within the city of
Redwood City, California. The
port was developed from a natural deepwater channel discovered in the year 1850, at the
mouth of
Redwood Creek.

Black's Beach is a
de facto clothing optional beach in
La Jolla, California. It is perhaps the largest
nude beach in the United States and is popular with many Southern Californian nudists and naturists. It is situated north of downtown La Jolla and south of
Torrey Pines State Park.

waterfall on the
Merced River just downstream of
Nevada Fall in
Yosemite National Park,
USA. While the official height of the waterfall is 317 ft 0 in (96.62 m), the United States Geographical Survey has measured it at approximately 240 ft 0 in (73.15 m).

Bodie, California is a
ghost town east of the
Sierra Nevada mountain range in
Mono County, California,
United States, about 75 miles (120 km) southeast of
Lake Tahoe and approximately 12 miles east of
Bridgeport. The ghost town has been administered by
California State Parks since becoming a state historic park in 1962.

Salton Sea is an inland
saline lake, occupying the lowest elevations of the
Salton Sink, part of the larger
Colorado Desert in
Southern California, north of the
Imperial Valley. The lake covers a surface area of approximately 376 square miles (974 km²), the largest in California.

coastline is a popular surfing destination, however the year-round low temperature of the

Lake Isabella is a man-made earthen
reservoir in
Kern County, California that consists of a main and auxiliary dam. It was formed in 1953 when the
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dammed the
Kern River at the junction of its two forks at Whiskey Flat. At 11,000 acres (45 km²), it is one of the largest reservoirs in California.

Salt Point State Park is a
state park located in
Sonoma County,
California,
United States. The park covers 6,000 acres (24 km²) on the coast of
Northern California with 20 miles (32 km) of
hiking trails and over six miles of a rough rocky coast line including Salt Point which protrudes into the
Pacific Ocean.

Balboa Stadium is located in
San Diego, California and was built in 1914 as part of the many buildings erected for the 1915
Panama-California Exposition located in Balboa Park. Originally called City Stadium, and designed by the Quayle Brothers architectural firm, it is located to the East of
San Diego High School. The Stadium was the home of the
American Football League's
San Diego Chargers' from 1961-66.

The
Western Gull (Larus occidentalis) is a large white-headed
gull that lives on the western coast of
North America. It is a large gull, around 60 cm long with a white head and body, and gray wings. It has a yellow bill with a red subterminal spot (this is the small spot near the end of the bill that chicks peck in order to stimulate feeding).

The
Golden Gate Bridge is a
suspension
bridge spanning the
Golden Gate, the opening of the
San Francisco Bay onto the
Pacific Ocean. As part of both
U.S. Route 101 and
California State Route 1, it connects the city of
San Francisco on the northern tip of the
San Francisco Peninsula to
Marin County.

Shasta Dam, an
arch dam across the
Sacramento River at the north end of the
Sacramento Valley,
California, during its construction in June 1942. The dam mainly serves long-term water storage and flood control in its reservoir,
Shasta Lake, and also generates
hydroelectric power. At 602 ft (183 m) high, it is the
ninth-tallest dam in the United States and forms the largest reservoir in California.
