2:15 P.M. (This is a few minutes before our tour for everyone to get organized)- Meet for tour of the Smithsonian
National Air and Space Museum.
Welcome center at the Independence Avenue Entrance of the National Mall Air and Space Museum Building located in downtown Washington, DC. (Entrance near "C" at
[1])
Cookies and lemonade will be provided. We will meet three members of the NMAI staff, including Jane Sledge, Associate Director - Museum Assets and Operations, Cheryl Wilson, Web Manager, and Holly Stewart, Editor, as well as two members of the Smithsonian outreach crew.
After Smithsonian tour and discussions - Meet together, social time, and travel towards dinner
For the tour, we will have a guided look at the museum and opportunities for discussion between Wikipedians and Smithsonian people.
For dinner, the current plan is to have a salad, pizza and dessert buffet dinner for $15.50 per person. We will give them a guaranteed count on June 19, so if at all possible, please sign up by that date. We will collect from attendees as they get their name tags at our reception desk.

Collaboration with the
Smithsonian Institution - We have recently been put in contact with several people at the SI interested in giving us a tour earlier in the day (details are forthcoming).
Launch of new wikimedia theme 'Vector' + usability enhancements launched on Wikimedia Commons, and other Wikimedia sites coming soon. Hats off to all of to designers and beta testers alike.
Wikipedia and Higher Education; discussion with
GWU media relations representative who's contacted
me and may be in attendance.

Discussing Wikimedia DC events (specifically, thinking outside the box on activities)

Well, we won't be able to get contact with the A&S museum staff because its the Weekend, so the tour will be by a docent. The American Indian staff looks forward to some form of collaboration, so we really ought to go. Right now we are running on our 2 SI contacts' coordination for these. We are letting the two of them figure it out.
