Nominator's rationale: delete per WP:SMALLCAT, only two articles and both articles don't even mention that the person was a vizier. No need to upmerge to Category:Yazdegerd III, since both articles are also in Category:Generals of Yazdegerd III. Marcocapelle ( talk) 18:34, 18 July 2017 (UTC) reply
Nominator's rationale: delete, redundant to its only content, child Category:Muslim conquest of Persia. Marcocapelle ( talk) 18:33, 18 July 2017 (UTC) reply
Nominator's rationale: delete per WP:OCEPON, too little content for an eponymous category, especially when the above subcategories are deleted. Marcocapelle ( talk) 18:32, 18 July 2017 (UTC) reply
I have combined these three items as they raise the same issues. Peterkingiron ( talk) 16:36, 19 July 2017 (UTC) reply
  • DElete all (or upmerge) -- check there really is nothing that needs upmerging. I do not think we need a category for the reign of one ruler from the ancient world. Peterkingiron ( talk) 16:38, 19 July 2017 (UTC) reply

The result of the discussion was: merge to Category:LGBT people from India and to appropriate Dalit categories where required. – Fayenatic London 00:10, 31 July 2017 (UTC) reply
Nominator's rationale: I know there was a deletion discussion recently about this, which arrived at no consensus, but I really can't see any valid argument for retention in that discussion. Siko claimed some sort of significant intersect but, aside from the claims made by the Dalit activists Sumit Baudh and Manish Gautam, I can see no evidence of it and no reason for us to retain this category as a righting of great wrongs. Yes, a category for LGBTQIA Indians might be appropriate because there is some commonality but to make out that there is a difference between Indians generally and Dalits in particular in the context of sexuality really is stretching it. We've got to get a grip on this Dalit-related activism, which is carving out a niche in the project. We're not here to support or promote any particular social cause through articles and categories.
The previous deletion arguments were, however, valid, eg: smallcat, peculiar intersect, we do not categorise people by caste (which is what Dalit is, effectively ) etc Sitush ( talk) 14:40, 18 July 2017 (UTC) reply
  • Delete. Seems like excessive microtargeting to me, and one this is fraught with BLP issues as well. Also, per WP:OCEGRS, it is not clear that this group is "a distinct and unique cultural topic in its own right". -- regentspark ( comment) 16:29, 18 July 2017 (UTC) reply

Nominator's rationale: This came to my attention through discussion of a parent category, and as it contains only one article and a redirect about a Mulan character which, though called a Hun, is obviously based on Mongol culture and geography, the category is something of a combination of WP:SHAREDNAME and WP:SMALLCAT. Move the one real article to the parent Turkic cat and delete this. Mangoe ( talk) 13:59, 18 July 2017 (UTC) reply
