Whitesville is an unincorporated community in Sussex County, Delaware, United States. Whitesville is located just north of the stateline with Maryland. [2] [3] between Delmar and Selbyville. [4] Local folklore ascribes the name to Ezekiel Williams, who built the first house in the village. [5] It is the site of the Line United Methodist Church. [6]

Williamsville was named for Ezekiel Williams. He owned the only house in the village at the time. A steam mill was erected and later a store. Later on a post office was put into the store.
