Bot behaviour while fixing double redirects

Hi,
This is a minor issue, but BOTarate fixed a double-redirect ( this edit), however left the {{ R from other capitalisation}} in place. Ideally, the bot should check for this template and reevaluate it's validity, and remove it if it is not a capitalization redirect. It's minor, but I thought I'd let you know anyhow. + m t 16:28, 29 December 2007 (UTC) reply

Please stop changing the Death's-head Hawkmoth article

The Death's-head Hawkmoth article is NOT the same as the article for Acherontia atropos in the English Wikipedia. If the Spanish Wikipedia wishes to have it as a single article, that is their choice, but in the English Wikipedia, they are separate articles, and you should take steps from preventing your bot from trying to edit the English Wikipedia entry as if it also referred to only a single species. What I would respectfully suggest is that you translate all four articles (the Death's-head Hawkmoth article and the three articles for the three Acherontia species) into the Spanish Wikipedia, and that way there will be no further conflict between the two versions and your bots will stop trying to make such changes. Templates with documentation

Hi. This is in response to this edit made by your bot to Template:Launching ( | talk | history | links | watch | logs). There are two problems with the edit. Firstly, it is an interwiki to the template documentation page on the Spanish Wikipedia, and secondly, it is in such a place as to be included when the template is transcluded. Please can you modify your bot to eliminate these errors. Thanks. --GW_Simulations User Page | Talk 21:32, 28 March 2008 (UTC) reply

Revolt of the Comuneros

Thanks for the message. I see that you worked a lot on the Spanish Wikipedia version, and thanks a bunch. I ran across the revolt by pure chance in July or so, and was disappointed at Wikipedia's short article... but noticed the star on the Spanish article. My Spanish isn't great (rusty stuff from high school mostly, though I am taking a refresher course now on it), but translating it was a ton of fun, as was researching it afterward.

For what it's worth, I do intend to submit this to the English Featured Articles board eventually, but from what I understand they're pretty finicky about page numbers. I don't quite have the article cited up to the bulletproof standard I think they want, but hopefully it'll be there soon. I figure I'll put it up for a peer review first, then bring it to FAC.

Since you asked, there is something you can do, if you're up for it. There are still a lot of redlinks in the article for topics that don't have articles, like Pedro Girón. Additionally, some of the articles are really stubby - compare Francisco Maldonado to es:Francisco Maldonado. If you'd be up for doing even a little work on fleshing out those articles and translating the Spanish versions, that'd be much appreciated. (Maybe, and this is a while off, it'd be neat to have a whole Revolt of the Comuneros Featured Topic, and we'd want a swarm of good articles around the main one to pull that off.) SnowFire ( talk) 00:14, 2 October 2008 (UTC) reply

Actually, another question. The picture Image:Juan_de_Padilla.gif which you uploaded... do you know the artist / date of the work? I can't find anything in my searches and the books I have don't seem to use that picture. I mean, by common sense it's obviously a 19th century work and safe, but I can see a legalistic type complaining and wondering if it was actually made in 1926 but in an old-fashioned style or something.
On another note, do you think the Spanish article would be interested in a version of Image:BattleofTordesillas.PNG? Should be easy enough to change "Count" to "Conde," and I'd be happy to make that variant if you want.
Thanks again for all the work on the original article. SnowFire ( talk) 22:54, 7 October 2008 (UTC) reply
Edit: Also missed this before, but any particular reason why you don't want the Spanish flag on the Template? It's a pretty common feature on templates like that such as Template:United States topics. SnowFire ( talk) 00:58, 8 October 2008 (UTC) reply

Hi again. Almost forgot to mention it, but I uploaded the Spanish version of that map awhile back: Image:BatalladeTordesillas.PNG. Probably not as necessary for Spanish audiences who are more likely to know where those towns are in Spain, but whatever.

Next, two questions. First, the celebration in Toledo mentioned at the end of both the English and Spanish article. I see that it's run by Tierra Comunera, a somewhat niche political party... how big/important is this party? I don't want to overhype its importance compared to, say, the main celebration in Villalar which has government backing.

Secondly, you removed the Cross of Burgundy flag before. How strongly do you disagree with that there? Because I think that a flag will spice things up and make that template stand out, and since Charles was the new King and all it strikes me as appropriate. Sure, the individual kingdoms had their own flags, but this would be Charles' flag over them all - Spain is usually dated back to either Charles or the Ferdinand & Isabella combination. SnowFire ( talk) 05:46, 25 October 2008 (UTC) reply

Actually, I have another question. Apparently Villalar renamed itself back in 1932, considerably earlier than I thought, at least according to es:Villalar de los Comuneros. While I don't doubt it's true, you wouldn't happen to have / know where a source is for that, would you? I checked the official website linked at the bottom of the article, but couldn't find much. SnowFire ( talk) 07:44, 12 November 2008 (UTC) reply

Quick question to confirm: The source you used to make Image:Localización del movimiento comunero.svg was Perez's Los Comuneros, right? Came up in the FAC, and I'm pretty sure that backs it anyway even if it's not what you used. SnowFire ( talk) 02:31, 27 November 2008 (UTC) reply

Reviewer granted

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Dabomb87 ( talk) 21:48, 23 September 2010 (UTC) reply

Official coat of arms

The description is "official", the coat of arms is just a user creation. The superior version I used also follows that description. Adelbrecht ( talk) 13:58, 18 October 2010 (UTC) reply

It includes neither version. The version in this document is made by a heraldic artist, the one you use by a user on wikimedia and the one I use too. The difference is that the version I use is updated to be more uniform with other versions. Adelbrecht ( talk) 15:05, 18 October 2010 (UTC) reply

You are reverting my edits. Why is that. "Pillars of Hercules" did not include a "official" version, and I did not remove the "official" version from "Coat of arms of Spain". Adelbrecht ( talk) 22:55, 19 November 2010 (UTC) reply

Darker and lighter colors do happen, as a kind of "shading". See the work of Hugo Gerhard Ströhl. And look at the crown of the official version File:Escudo de España (mazonado).svg, it also has a gradient. (But in that case, I think it's wrong because the colour will change from the official laws) Adelbrecht ( talk) 15:33, 20 November 2010 (UTC) reply

Archivos Usuario Heralder

Buenas tardes,

Please stop reverting edits in Tierra de Campos. I created the article and the map is sourced. You just have to check the sources provided in the article, among which the following:

I respected your map according to Justo González Garrido's point of view of the region. Please do respect mine instead of claiming absolute exclusivity for González Garrido's narrow definition of the boundaries of the comarca. Xufanc ( talk) 21:57, 11 January 2011 (UTC) reply

Thank you for the consideration. I want to make clear that I do value and respect González Garrido's definition of Tierra de Campos. Still, in the Spanish Wikipedia "Tierra de Sahagún" is included in the Tierra de Campos category. Moreover, the text of the first Diario de León article says: Así, sólo queda Sahagún, una de las capitales tradicionales de la Tierra de Campos. Sahagún, however is not included as part of Tierra de Campos in this map here, where only the southermost part is shown under that name. Do you know why González Garrido did not include the Leonese areas in his map? Xufanc ( talk) 14:28, 12 January 2011 (UTC) reply

Armorials design at the English Wikipedia

Hello

The latest version showed the widely heraldic used at the English Wikipedia, please don´t revert.

At Coats of arms of the autonomous communities of Spain, the earlier version didn´t show the official design in all cases. All the latest versions are right acording to sources. You can check all have the same elements comparing versions and you can check most of the earlier versions aren´t official at the sources. In adition the earlier gallery had different designs so the final result is worse (I think It is easy to check, comparing the different version) (in heraldry is common that the Armorials show the same style, it is a basic rule). Finally There aren´t reasons for changes, and this designs are widely used at the Spanish Wikipedia, different designs should be showed, specially if this style is the used at the English Wikipedia Heraldic Galleries e.g. List of coats of arms of the United Kingdom Coat of arms of the United Kingdom List of coats of arms of France.

Please, not delete again don´t wars of edition, Solid arguments for latest version are showed

I left this message at the discussion section of the article last month.

Thanks you

La Lifa Play-Off

Credo Reference Update & Survey (your opinion requested)

Credo Reference, who generously donated 400 free Credo 250 research accounts to Wikipedia editors over the past two years, has offered to expand the program to include 100 additional reference resources. Credo wants Wikipedia editors to select which resources they want most. So, we put together a quick survey to do that:

It also asks some basic questions about what you like about the Credo program and what you might want to improve.

At this time only the initial 400 editors have accounts, but even if you do not have an account, you still might want to weigh in on which resources would be most valuable for the community (for example, through WikiProject Resource Exchange).

Also, if you have an account but no longer want to use it, please leave me a note so another editor can take your spot.

I've taken the bold step of identifying an article requiring translation and I'm in the process of inviting collaboration. The article History of Puerta del Sol could really use your help. In addition, I'd welcome any ideas you may have to help revive this project so that there is greater collaboration among ES>EN translators on en.Wikipedia. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. I leave at your discretion...

Greetings mate! (apologize for using an online translator)

You may be interested in reviewing or participating in the review and cleaning of some articles related to a series of articles related to the Institute of San Isidro and a supposed historical entity of students of said school.

Several users are working on disassembling the assembly, as you can read here [1], or in the discussion of the article in WP:Catalan, also reformed and sanitized. Another English colleague is working on this project [2], where a thorough cleaning has also been requested... [3], y and in whose CdB (AfD) maybe you are interested in participating, without commitment naturally.-- Latemplanza ( talk) 09:28, 22 January 2019 (UTC) reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:CB Valladolid Logo.svg

Thank you for uploading File:CB Valladolid Logo.svg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot ( talk) 01:00, 17 August 2019 (UTC) reply
