- I'm not at all anti-Commons. It's just that I had a recurring problem with my uploads being improperly transferred to Commons. I uploaded properly licensed images here which were then copied to Commons without the license, deleted from here as redundant, and then deleted from Commons because the license was missing. Asking for a copy to remain here prevents that problem. I don't object if someone wants to transfer a duplicate to Commons as long as a copy remains here.

- Wikimedia projects have such dense, byzantine, and ever-changing rules that one can never really know for sure what's permissible. Trying to figure them out for one site, English Wikipedia, is enough for me.
