Cyclone Djoungou

FYI in their final advisory the JTWC placed Djoungou's final position at 29.8S 92.0E which is inside the Aus Region and stated that it had become a subtropical cyclone. As a result, we have to mention Djoungou in the Aus region even though AFAIK the BoM did not classify it as 08U. Jason Rees ( talk) 01:58, 21 February 2024 (UTC) reply

Have the boundaries for the Australian region changed for some reason since I last checked? As the final advisory from the JTWC placed Djoungou at 29.8S 92.0E, which is inside the Australian Region and means that it had to stay as a part of the season even though the BoM did not assign a number. Upon the cyclone entering the region, I realized that it should stay since the JTWC placed Djoungou. Apologize for the quick removal. HurricaneEdgar 16:05, 18 March 2024 (UTC) reply

Hey there, I see you're working on Cyclone Freddy. You're adding a lot to the meteorological history, but that's not necessary, since there's already an article specifically for the meteorological history. I hate to ask, but would you mind reverting your recent edits to the met history? All of that said, I really do appreciate you working on Freddy, since that was one of the most important storms of the year last year. I just read through the article, and I was surprised how good of shape it is in. That being said, the most likely thing that's missing is more longterm aftermath, which basically only goes up to March 2023. Have you heard of the website ReliefWeb? You'll be able to find a ton of information there (which, forewarning, is more going to be information overload). It's a little tricky parsing through all of the sources and figuring out what's actually important versus what's a really minor update that's barely even worth mentioning. I hate to presume, but are you trying to get Freddy to good or featured article status? ♫ Hurricanehink ( talk) 03:27, 4 March 2024 (UTC) reply

Hahahaha, I have no plan to nominate the article. I've 'added the met history to clarify that before he became category 5, it was weak and made landfall, but Freddy is an important system due to its records. Sorry for being late in replying. I'm currently at school STI College. HurricaneEdgar 13:02, 4 March 2024 (UTC) reply
Yes, I've heard I was using that website way back last year. when I am still updating on the aftermath of the storm, and yes, there is hundred-tone information on that website. HurricaneEdgar 13:25, 4 March 2024 (UTC) reply
Aww that's too bad, since Freddy is one of the most important storms of the decade, and it would be great if it was featured eventually. But my point remains about Freddy, I think there's a bit too much met history, since there is already a met history article. The bit about Freddy in AUS is especially bloated, which I realize now you didn't do, but since you're already working on the article, I figured I'd ask your thoughts. ♫ Hurricanehink ( talk) 19:00, 5 March 2024 (UTC) reply

Merges

When proposing merges, could you please use "merge from" instead of "merge" on the pages that are receiving the content? Using "merge" messes up the article alerts page and says there are three articles being merged when it's actually just one. I adjusted the templates on the season pages.
