A more personal welcome

If you're ever confused about something, feel free to ask. I hope my response over at User talk:Bongwarrior helped reduce that confusion, but if not, I'm happy to clarify.

I see that you've already shown some great steps with editing and that you've started the Wikipedia Adventure. I hope you'll find that tutorial useful. I just wanted to say that what I've seen so far is great, and it's always nice to see new editors learning to contribute here.

I noticed that your user page includes a userbox about living in New York. If you're interested in editing in that topic area, you might be interested in WikiProject New York. WikiProject are a place where editors collaborate to improve certain topics on Wikipedia.

I guess my last piece of advice is that if you have any questions about editing, the Teahouse is a friendly place to ask. It helped me out a lot when I was new here and trying to learn how to contribute. Clovermoss (talk) 03:08, 31 March 2020 (UTC) reply

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 15:25, 31 March 2020 (UTC) reply

April Fools and COVID

Do your April Fools stuff, but please do not make jokes/pranks about COVID like you did here: [1] [2]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

Please carefully read this information:

A community discussion has authorised the use of general sanctions for pages related to coronavirus disease 2019 ( COVID-19).
The specific details of these sanctions are described here.

Broadly, general sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimise disruption in controversial topic areas. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to these topics that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behaviour, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. An editor can only be sanctioned after he or she has been made aware that general sanctions are in effect. This notification is meant to inform you that sanctions are authorised in these topic areas, which you have been editing. It is only effective if it is logged here. Before continuing to edit pages in these topic areas, please familiarise yourself with the general sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.

Your signature

Hello, the signature that you used on Wikipedia talk:Unusual requests does not contain a link to your user or talk page, as required by the relevant guideline. To fix this, uncheck the box that says "Treat the above as wiki markup ..." in the user profile section of your preferences. Graham 87 07:26, 4 April 2020 (UTC) reply
