Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Video games notable for negative reception has been reverted. Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The deletion of an article you created, Best video games of all time, has been proposed for the following reason:
You are welcome to improve the article to meet Wikipedia's quality standards and remove the deletion notice from the article. You may also remove the notice if you disagree with the deletion, though in such cases, further discussion may take place at Articles for deletion, and the article may still be deleted if there is a consensus to do so.
Wikipedia has certain standards for inclusion that all articles must meet. Certain types of article must establish the notability of their subject by asserting its importance or significance. Additionally, since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, content inappropriate for an encyclopedia, or content that would be more suited to somewhere else (such as a directory or social networking website) is not acceptable. I appreciate your enthusiasm, but it is best if featured articles are nominated by people who have worked closely on them. In this way, they can give reasoned replies to reviewers and be familiar enough with the sources to act on suggested improvements. Someone who has not worked on the article can not provide this input, so the featured article candidate may continue on until opposition to it becomes so overwhelming that the article is failed; this takes away time from reviewers. While the Gears of War article is of reasonable quality, principal contributors must be consulted before a nomination, as required in the featured article candidate instructions. Hey there,
I noticed you've been asking for quite a bunch of assessments from the video games wikiproject lately. That's really good, because this the prime way of improving article who aren't really ready for FA yet.
Something I noticed, however, is that few articles you put up for assessment have been recently edited, and that the feedback given by the assessors is rarely used, almost never by you, and rarely by others. Usually, before asking for an assessment, an editor has made some significant changes to an article and is now stuck with editing it, and needs some guidance from the assessor on how to continue.
I thought I'd let you know this, because doing an assessment takes a lot of time and I honestly don't really like it when nothing is done with that time after making the effort. Now if you really believe an article deserves a higher rating than it currently has, just change it! Assessment doesn't need to be 'official' or via the request page. That's only if there's some kind of a dispute over a rating, or if you need feedback on your work as I described above.
If there's ever an article you have made significant contributions to and want comments to improve, drop me a note and I'll be glad to help review it, but currently I don't think that's the purpose of your requests for assessment, so I'll be dropping them for a bit if you don't mind.
Regards,
User:Krator ( t c) 22:18, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
That is probably more suited for Wikipedia:Featured list candidates rather than WP:FAC. Anyways, I'm not really familiar with that list, so I can't help much. Perhaps you could get more opinions at WT:VG. Cheers. Gary King ( talk) 01:51, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

Hi, could you please use edit summaries on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Video games/to do (and preferably other pages too) when editing it, so that we can tell what's changed just by looking at our watchlists, considering the page is a highly watched page and all? Thanks! Gary King ( talk) 21:49, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
Hey I noticed you nominated Rock Band for A-class at WPVG. Two reviewers supported it (including myself) and so I changed its talk page rating to A-class, but an admin came around and changed it back to GA, citing the A-class criteria page. I guess WikiProjects without a formal A-class review process (like ours) should go through the article's talk page instead of our project page. Also, it seems like the WPVG has had an A-class review process in the past, but it's currently not active. Should it be re-activated? — Levi van Tine ( talk) 13:16, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
I am currently gauging the active membership of the Nintendo task force. I have split the members list into an "active list" and an "inactive list" and have moved all members (except myself) to the "inactive list". To confirm that you're still an active participant in the task force, please go to the membership list at WP:NIN and simply move your name from the "inactive list" back onto the "active list". If you no longer wish to be a member, simply remove your name from the list. After two weeks (around 23 March 2009), I will remove all names on the inactive list. Thank you, and hope you're still interested, MuZemike 20:27, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
I think the "cite journal" template should be used for magazines. Thanks, anyway, but no thanks. It's everyone's task force, and everyone's welcome to make improvements within the appropriate policies and guidelines. If I'm gone for a while, someone else should be easily able to step in there and do the "administrative stuff" (which isn't much besides updating the to do list, the main page, and the portal. Anyone in good faith can do that. Not trying to be condescending at all, but in a nutshell there are no leaders here, not even in WPVG for that matter. MuZemike 01:07, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
Well, I think I'm just about finished with the article. You kind of disappeared, huh? I'm going to list it on WP:VG's assessment request page. After that it'll probably go up to GAN. — Levi van Tine ( t – c) 09:08, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Just a reminder that if you're reassessing Good Articles, make sure you post it on WP:VG/TD as well as on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Video games/Nintendo/to do (yes, it needs a shortcut) if it's a Nintendo-related article. We have to make sure as many relevant users know about such actions are taken. Thank you, MuZemike 06:38, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
GAR reviews are more a courtesy than anything to inform folks "this might need fixing"; individual reassessments are allowed. There are some cases where judgment calls work better, like with Nicole (talked with the main contributor) or the other article (which is something I'm pondering might be worth an outright AfD given the fact it's well researched in universe content).-- Kung Fu Man ( talk) 02:19, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

Not trying to refer to anybody at all. But you are more than welcome to take that as a compliment. :-)
I've felt that sentiment for a while now, I just never declared it for the whole Wiki to see. It stems from the work I did on Wikipedia:Featured topics/Kingdom Hearts. There was a small group of editors I worked with on the first batch of articles for the topic, and I had a lot of fun collaborating with them. But once things started going to GA and FA, we tried to adhere to standards at the resistance of adamant fans. Add in the various disputes I've been a part of at WT:VG, and it just wore me down.
So now I work on older games that are more "obscure" than the latest FPS, and I barely run into anybody when I edit. I do miss collaborating with a small group of editors though. So that's why I'm more than happy to offer my help at I, Robot (arcade game). ( Guyinblack25 talk 20:23, 20 August 2009 (UTC))

It's that time again to update membership status with the Nintendo task force, which we try to do every 3-4 months to keep our membership up-to-date.
All participants have been placed on an "Inactive participants" list. To confirm that you're still a member of the Nintendo task force, simply go to Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Nintendo#Members and move your name from the "Inactive participants" list to the bottom of the "Active participants" list. If you are no longer an active member in the task force, you may simply remove your name altogether. After 1 month, on October 1, all entries under the "Inactive participants" list will be removed. Hopefully you can stay with us and continue to work on Nintendo-related articles. Regards, MuZemike 17:51, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Just to clarify, do you want the missing information to ref 67 so 66 can be removed? If so here's the info.
Looks like ref 76 can be replaced by this cite also. Written in 1995 and premiered in Japan in 1996, Koichi Sugiyama composed the music and Minoru Suzuki (not the wrestler though) choreographed the dance. It has also been performed in 97, 99, 01, and 02.
Page 160 mentions that it was also the first video game to have a live concert (Family Live Concert) in 1987 in Japan. Sugiyama conducted music from the first two DQ games. Page 160 also lists DQVI (a Japanese exclusive) as the best selling RPG on the SNES with 3.2 million units, and DQVII as the fastest-selling game in Japan with 3 million sold during its first week. I know you're working with the timeline, but I added a table, while not deleting the timeline, because it's easier to get the information of when the games are/were released in which region and for which console/handheld. Also it has both the official English title and the Japanese one. Also the table was used before on the article, also there is a table for the spin-off games, so why not for the main series games? So, I don't see the reason why there can't be both the timeline and the table. —Preceding unsigned comment added by GonbeFAN ( talk • contribs) 20:07, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

In regard to the FAC, my guess is that it was closed for lack of comments/participation. Think of it as a no consensus at an AfD. I haven't read the articles since the first peer review in July, so I have no idea what article issues (if any) might exist. I'll try to take another look after the new year. If it interests you, go ahead! I have the page watch-listed and can (hopefully) answer any questions you might have. Expand lead and reception, fix-up gameplay and history, take care of the WP:WEIGHT issues and write up a development section-that should be enough for GA. I say this because I really haven't done anything significant there in a while and unfortunately have no short-term intention on doing so. However, I have slowly been building up additional sources suitable for it (see under "Reception" and "Development" here: User:FullMetal Falcon/sandbox). Regards, « ₣M₣ » 23:24, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Some stuff brought up in the PR is not surprising, it just takes me awhile to expand reception. While I don't expect it to be as long as Halo Wars, it is still a good example if you want to take a shot at it. « ₣M₣ » 20:27, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
Thanks to everyone's efforts to the GA Sweeps process, we are currently over 90% done with only 226 articles remain to be swept! As always, I want to thank you for using your time to ensure the quality of the older GAs. With over 50 members participating in Sweeps, that averages out to about 4 articles per person! If each member reviews an article once a week this month (or several!), we'll be completely finished. At that point, awards will be handed out to reviewers. As an added incentive, if we complete over 100 articles reviewed this month, I will donate $100 to Wikipedia Forever on behalf of all GA Sweeps participants. I hope that this incentive will help to increase our motivation for completing Sweeps while supporting Wikipedia in the process. If you have any questions about reviews or Sweeps let me know and I'll be happy to get back to you. Hey, thanks for the barnstar. Sorry to see that Riddick wasn't promoted; I think Karanacs made a mistake in failing it. The article is in good enough shape that FAC would have smoothed out the rest of its problems. As for David Fuchs' suggestion that you should address his complaints at peer review, I found several of them too vague to understand, and he didn't clarify the prose-related points when I asked him to. You might try asking him to explain his points more clearly. Anyway, if you plan on continuing your attempts to get it featured, don't hesitate to ask me for help if you need it. Hi there. It looks like you haven't come back to the review above. Leaving that editor's disappointment aside for the moment, could you look at the review again, indicate if there are any specific points that need to be addressed in terms of the GA criteria, give other eds an opportunity to respond, then either list it as a keep or not? I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that you are Street Fighter fan so you must contributed a bit to the articles. Well, I've begun undertaking an article that compares and lists references in third party material to the Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter "feud" for lack of a better term. I was wondering if you could help me move it along because I only have articles that mention mainly Mortal Kombat, and no Street Fighter articles from third parties. My sandbox is here and the discussion page has links and excerpts/complete text of the articles.

I hope you can help me with what I believe to be a great collaboration. Sincerely Subzerosmokerain ( talk) 02:23, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
I'm not really sure, to tell the truth. I think it depends greatly on whether or not this is really all the content there is. I'm leaning towards a list, just because of the small and relatively-undescribed species.
Thanks to everyone's efforts to the GA Sweeps process, we are currently over 95% done with around 130 articles left to be swept! Currently there are over 50 members participating in Sweeps, that averages out to about 3 articles per person! If each member reviews an article once a week this month (or several!), we'll be completely finished. At that point, awards will be handed out to reviewers. Per my message last month, although we did not review 100 articles last month, I still made a donation of $90 (we had 90 reviews completed/initiated) to Wikipedia Forever on behalf of all GA Sweeps reviewers. I would like to thank everyone's efforts for last month, and ask for additional effort this month so we can be finished. I know you have to be sick of seeing these updates (as well as Sweeps itself) by now, so please do consider reviewing a few articles if you haven't reviewed in a while. If you have any questions about reviews or Sweeps let me know and I'll be happy to get back to you. Again, thank you for taking the time to help with the process, I appreciate your efforts! --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 ( talk • contrib) 02:31, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
College has been taking up most of my life lately-- sorry I haven't been around as much. I've been checking in though pretty often though so if you leave me a message I'll usually get back to you pretty quickly. How have things been? -- Nomader ( Talk) 05:23, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
Looks like I'll be on the active list this time then-- either way, I'll be around editing lists again if you need me. Hopefully this lasts longer than my last active spurt. It's nice to see you still around, GamerPro. -- Nomader ( Talk) 06:00, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
Yes I know they are sitting open. A couple are too good to fail LEOPARD syndrome and Influenza A virus subtype H5N1 and IMO not good enough to pass. I have been working on them a bit but no one else seems interested. Another IMO should be failed but the editor who works on it has asked for a second opinion. If you could provide an opinion at Good Samaritan law it would be appreciated. Also Self-harm I think is almost there. It has been changed to a community assessment, I have edited the page thus will hold from further comments. Cheers Doc James ( talk · contribs · email) 19:17, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
Basically retired, though I occasionally look around. That article will have to slide. I no longer think such an article is worthy of inclusion in an encyclopedia, let alone GA. — Deck iller 19:54, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
Hey, sorry I didn't get back to you earlier; my home computer is shot, and I'm using the school's computer lab. My apologies if I seemed somewhat aggressive/pessimistic the other day; Wikipedia has changed a lot, and sometimes it takes a bit of time to adapt to the change. By the way, I wouldn't mind participating in an interview — whenever you have a slot available. — Deck iller 16:22, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
