If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on DFL Soccer League requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. — C.Fred ( talk) 04:21, 26 December 2018 (UTC) reply

File permission problem with File:Yonatan Levi, Sektzia Nes Tziona, Matchday.jpeg

Thanks for uploading File:Yonatan Levi, Sektzia Nes Tziona, Matchday.jpeg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{ OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{ non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq ( talk) 15:38, 21 September 2019 (UTC) reply

Transfermarkt

Since much of its content is user-edited, Transfermarkt is not considered a reliable source. Please do not cite the website in articles. Thank you. Sir Sputnik ( talk) 20:31, 21 September 2019 (UTC) reply

Disambiguation link notification for March 5

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited CONCACAF Champions League, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Televicentro. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Additionally you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{ Ctopics/aware}} template.

Please note that while non-extended confirmed (500/30) editors are allowed to request edits to these articles on talk pages, they are not allowed to participate in project discussions related to the topic, which includes RfCs, AfDs, page moves, and source-reliability discussions among other centralized discussion procedures. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bushra al-Tawil has been procedurally closed accordingly, as you do not have standing to initiate the discussion. signed, Rosguill talk 17:16, 17 October 2023 (UTC) reply

Please note that requesting other editors to make edits you are not yourself allowed to make, as you did here, is considered canvassing and is not allowed. If repeated, it will result in sanctions. signed, Rosguill talk 18:45, 17 October 2023 (UTC) reply
Thank you for letting me know, however, can you explain why my message to Eladkarmel would not fall under WP:APPNOTE? He contributed to the discussion and held my view so I figured it was appropriate to let him know that the discussion was closed because of reasons unrelated to the content of the discussion (being the status of my Wikipedia account). Thanks for the guidance. Dazzling4 ( talk) 19:00, 17 October 2023 (UTC) reply
The general rule is that you're not allowed to request that a specific editor make an edit that you're not allowed to do, regardless of why the restriction exists for you. Eladkarmel's participation in the prior discussion would have made it appropriate for say, someone to notify them (along with everyone else that participated) should the discussion be reopened.
The other thing to note is that typically, for an editor who is canvassed to a discussion, following through on the edit request would be considered a violation of the canvassing rules and typically something to be met with sanctions. In this case, however, due to Eladkarmel's prior participation in the discussion, I would consider them to still have good standing to re-open the discussion should they choose to do so, despite the (unintentional) canvassing attempt by you. signed, Rosguill talk 14:32, 18 October 2023 (UTC) reply
