{{helpme}} I would like to place one of those superscript [cite?] signs I've seen on other articles for a date on the Mykonos restaurant assassinations article, but can't find how to do it. To clarify: I have been to Canada, the United States, and Mexico - all of which are located in North America. I'll admit that North America is sometimes considered to consist of only Canada and the United States. However, it is generally accepted that North America's southern limit is delimited by the Darién watershed along the Colombia-Panama border, or at the Panama Canal. There are some geographical constructs (i.e. Central America) in which Canada and the United States are listed separately from Mexico. However, Central America is generally considered to be a sub-continent.

If that wasn't you then my apologies (no way to verify user ID's on IRC);

If it was you, then I'd recommend looking at Wikipedia:TRANSLATE#How_to_translate. There are no great hard-and-fast rules on this, but from my own experience, I'd suggest using machine translation with caution; use it as a tool, but recognize that the article will need editing and changing to fit in with English wikipedia. The template to add to the talk, {{Translated page}}, is a good way to explain sourcing etc.

Hi, Thanks for the help on the Frohman article. This was my first article and I hadn't figured out how to add illustrations yet.

I do have a bunch of pictures of Frohman, but they are all copyrighted by the Cathedral's magazine. I am sending a letter to the Cathedral to see if they would be willing to supply a picture which they will agree to relinquish the copyright to. If I can get them to agree, I will need some help in getting the correct wording and uploading the image file into Wiki Common. I'll let you know what happens. Don't want to clutter the article talk page with this, but I guess if the answer is "no" I should probably still put something there saying an attempt has been made, but proved unsuccessful. I would like to get this article up to "good" status, but hesitate to ask for a review without a picture of Frohman. As for the French ancestry, I don't have any more on that. I am editing Osaka Maritime Museum and have been on the hunt for sources. I have found http://en.wikiarquitectura.com/index.php?title=Osaka_Maritime_Museum - this wiki which seems to have Spanish routes. It has a number of images/drawings of the layout 1 and 2 which will assist in understanding the building, but I'm not sure on the copyright issues involved - you click through on the image and it suggests it is also on Commons, but you click through again and it isn't there. Can I use it? How do I go about getting it onto Commons? Or was it deleted there because it's NNFC? Does it need to be removed from the original site? Finally, I think a drawing of the layout based on these drawings would be useful, is there anyone to ask to do that?

Hello! I'm afraid it is there at the bottom of this section, but it's not in your favour. I was going to write a much longer piece but it would only repeat what Alvus said. Your cites from the book are not really evidence, they report a claim from an unknown paper. You have then presented it as fact, which is clearly not appropriate under Wikipedia's requirement for verifiability. If there were reliable sources that said "Company X was forced into bankruptcy by Intel's suing of them, when they had only just been established." then consideration could be given to that. I hope you can see that your other assertion is not suitable for an encyclopedia, otherwise every article could have speculative sections. I hope these conversations can help you see the need for specific, verifiable, information, not unsourced allegations in a book. Just to let you know - I'm off. I'm leaving Wikipedia, in the hope that I can get some real life done. Sorry to invite you to the Simon Darby page then bugger off, but I think the article's issues have, for the most part, been resolved. I'd like to thank you for your help there - you were neutral and civil - fantastic! I'm going to remove the podcast section before I go - I've had a look round, and I can't find any reliable 3rd party sources about it. It's mentioned on some pro-BNP blogs (and some anti- ones), the BNP website and Play Radio's website, but nothing 3rd party. If you think I shouldn't get rid of it, feel free to revert. Anyway, I think you've done a great job with your 3rd opinion, and wish you all the best.

I guess I won't know if you get a chance to read this or not. I thought we did some great work on the Simon Darby article, it was a lot more balanced after some editors introduced their POV and we found a new neutral position, which I think enhances the article. I'm slightly scared you're leaving it to me to look after!

For the record, I think it's a real shame that you're leaving, but it's odd that you seem to be leaving over this discussion. From the balance you displayed on Talk:Simon Darby it's confusing to me that you can then appear slightly unbalanced in your writings on Talk:Liopleurodon. I guess that's a lesson for all of us, to make sure we strive for balance in all the articles no matter our own bias, and sometimes accept the consensus isn't with you.. Don't mean to have a go, I just want to record this for my own learning on wp.

Hopefully you'll come back and edit some other articles, and leave that dispute behind you, I'll cross my fingers.

Whilst I would agree my original entry contained a large amount from one website, this was corrected and my later edits also contained citations from numerous independent sources.

I cannot pretend I am in agreement with the consensus on the article and am more disappointed that WIKI can allow an article that not only contains factual errors but shows a complete lack of balance and allows users to pursue their own agenda's with complete disregard for fair representation.

It was my intention to improve the article and contribute to the WIKI project, however I thank you for your advice, I appreciate you taking the time to respond and have taken note of what you said and as such perhaps avoiding the page seems the best course of action.

I've replied here in an attempt to keep the conversation in one place.

It's no problem, I try and offer assistance along the way. It's encouraging that you can recognise how long I spent writing on your talk page, so your reply here goes a long way to convincing me you'll be fine here once you settle in! From my (althogether blurry) memory, it seems you're nearly there on this POV thing - for the change of orange shirts, although Rangers' POV is that the shirts were withdrawn as they change every season (which they generally do, keep the punters spending money), there is an equally valid POV to suggest that the orange was a "political" (probably the wrong word, but hey-hum!) mistake and withdrawing it acknowledged that problem. Both POVs are valid and deserve mention in the article (from my, hopefully neutral position). I can't remember exactly how you argued this one, but wp wants to see every source's position, and try to include it. I don't know if this makes much sense or not. The problem i see is seeker is ranger fan ( i am too) however i have been here on wikipedia 2-3 years and i know the rules and such i agree the section makes rangers look bad but that is what the sources say and as yet there has only been few realible source to say otehr wise. In previous debatres about it i have had the section greatly improved, however i think seeker wants ti removed altogether as it tarnish the club name however it part of rangers and has to be included but needs to be as seeker put it factually accurate :) By the way i take NPOV at all times i try to understand both sides it the only way forward-- Andrewcrawford ( talk) 19:06, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

The problem I have with andrewcrawford is he is making assumptions that are incorrect (what about AGF andrew ?) in that I want the section removed not because it "tarnishes the clubs reputation" but because of the size of the section constitutes "undue weight" and the subject matter is so complex that not to discuss the subject in it's entirety is to do it a disservice and merely perpetuates the same old inaccuracies. It also contains too much content that could be construed as recentism. How important will one arrest, or a certain chant seem in 10yrs for instance ? It'll be back at some point, I went Commons surfing for digger pictures and have a list of them that will go on rotation. I was actually reminded to change it when I read kelapstick's interupted RfA and looked at mountain removal mining, which made me realise that even my silly name has the potential to be viewed as a CoI!

I'm not quite sure what it was digging for, although generally the huge excavators are after coal, it had a German filename so I guess there's somewhere in Germany that's a bit lighter after all the digging - there are still two pages where you can see the old digger in action, a Russian wp page about rotary excavators, and a wp page in the Saterland Frisian language which is spoken by about 2000 people that I can't translate - I think it has something to do with coal extraction.

Also, it's quite an interesting debate about plagarism going on round these parts. Copying with attribution is not plagarism if you ask me. If I quite clearly cite where I took my info from then I am not attempting to hide where my words originally came from then I cannot logically be plagarising. Is it fair to say that puts me in a minority view on wp?

Thanks for the response. That language is interesting. As far as plagarism, it gets complicated, but there are still limits on how much wording and how much content can be duplicated from a cited source. It's a judgment call I would say. That was a Bucket-wheel excavator, they are used in Europe, typically Germany (I don't know if any are used in North America) for strip mining coal. They are HUGE. I have a Power Point presentation that has a lot of pictures of one crossing a road at 1/3 miles per hour, including a Cat D8 bulldozer in one of the buckets.-- kelapstick ( talk) 16:56, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

Note to self IP editor insistent on inserting line into Intel Corporation. I had offered the WP:3O which the editor didn't agree with and the editor immediately passed it up to ArbCom. Looks like it will be refused a case and I have suggested the editor uses WP:Editor assistance as I'm not sure how else to dissuade them from their path. Yep, it's certainly odd. The problem is there isn't an essay to point an editor to that means we can't just say "look here". I quite like the effort they're going to in order to include their sentence, and if that effort could be harnessed in a positive manner I'm sure they'd make a good editor... Hi again. I know you said you'd watch my talk page, but it's been a while so I thought I post the (largely) good news here. The Cathedral came through with two pictures they said they release into the public domain with attribution. I have never uploaded anything in Wikimedia before and am leaving in a day or two for a trip to your neck of the woods (I think). Depending on how things go, I may not be able to get them into Wikimedia until early July. The slightly bad news is that he appears to be wearing his medal in the color photo. The actual medal is evidently in his jacket pocket but the ribbon appears. It is white and gold, the Papal colors, not the colors of the medal image you added to the article. I think, given the inconsistency, it best to take the image of the medal out of the article. Once I get a picture of Frohman uploaded I am going to nominate the article for Good article status. No worries about the medal, it's not a particularly brilliant picture, I just wanted to put some more images in at the time. I guess we could swap it out for the picture of him with the medal on, and put the other one at the top? WP:There is no deadline, so no problem if you can't upload the pictures for Philip H. Frohman before you leave. You could zip up the photos and the attribution info and upload it to yousendit.com - then paste the link here and I could upload it to Commons whilst you're away (although no problem if that's all too technical!) - I have an account at Commons so I could get a photo of Bacon ice cream uploaded! Hi, I'm finally back but I see you may be otherwise occupied. Trip went very nicely, no glitches and generally good weather. I'm no longer sure what I'm seeing in Frohman's pocket is his papal medal. It might just be somthing like a ruler sticking up out of his pocket, not a medal (why would he wear the medal but have the "gong" part hidden in his pocket? I'm not sure I can still follow my own reasoning on this.) Anyhow, I'm not taking out the picture of the medal unless I'm absolutely sure.

Sorry, I still think there is a bias on that page. The line implies the Zulus won despite being armed with inferior weapons, but they won because they achieved tactical suprise, heavily outnumbered the British troops, and the British used the wrong tactics (fighting the Zulus in a straight firing line and not a square with Isandlwana covering their rear and consolidating their fire like at Rorke's Drift or at the final battle, Ulundi). I think it is irrelevant to mention the weapons differences.

• If you want something very quick and easy to look at, see this list. Those are the articles from the original list that had been renamed/redirected in the period between the list being made and the 'bot processing being commenced.
