Thanks for that. How do I export MediaWiki:Monobook.css and MediaWiki:Common.css to my wiki?? Thanks, -- Solumeiras talk 16:50, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
Hello Ais523. How are you? Today I completed my second month on Wikipedia. I think Wikipedia is a great place. And, I hope you are doing well. Regards, Masterpiece2000 12:24, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
Hello Ais523. How are you? I created an account on Meta-Wiki and I have not done anything. What can I do on Meta-Wiki? Regards, Masterpiece2000 05:11, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

You forgot about mw:Extension:Gadgets (which is now installed) even though you were the one who proposed to add it to the English Wikipedia. :P Shouldn't something like Gadgets be somewhere in there? Fun Pika 10:46, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
Hi, I like your watchlistnotifier. May I suggest you add a link to the watchlist at the end of the notification text (or simply linkify the whole text?) -- Ddxc 14:56, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
Hello Ais523. I have few questions about admins. Here are the questions:
Regards, Masterpiece2000 ( talk) 03:58, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
WOW! Main Page was deleted? Amazing! Thank you for the reply. And, how important is it for someone to have strong password? You said 'several administrator accounts were hacked into'. How is that possible? Was that because the admin had weak password? The deletion of Main Page is one of the most amazing thing I have ever heard in my life! I will try to get more information about it!
When I clicked on Special:Undelete, the reply was: The action you have requested is limited to users in the group Administrators. So you are right! Who are Oversights and developers? I know about admins and bureaucrats. I know about their power. Who are Oversights, Developers, and Stewards? Right now, I am an ordinary user. And, how can I climb up the ladder? I mean...everybody like to reach the top. Regards, Masterpiece2000 ( talk) 12:23, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
Hello. You commented at
As you suggested I initiated a discussion at MediaWiki_talk:Common.js#Special:Upload, but I could use your help. You seem to know more about what is going on. I don't understand Javascript, and I don't really understand what I am asking there.-- Timeshifter ( talk) 18:27, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
Hello, AIS523, me again, Jerry. I recently was made an administrator, and I also recently enabled popups through the checkbox my user preferences. I realize now however, that the handy feature that told me the latest change to an item in my watchlist is not working. Do you think this is because of popups, or possibly a script collission due to own name highlighting and admin name highlighting? I really would like to get this feature back.
Second, is there an easy way to add a "purge server cache" button for the active page at the top by way of a monobook script? I find I have to frequently manually purge Category:Candidates for speedy deletion, and it would be a nice tool to have all the time. Thanks, JERRY talk contribs 00:44, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for making my account :) Christian Richard ( talk) 00:25, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
Hi Ais, I'm picking on you because I saw your name at the top of the Signpost Technology report. If you take a look at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#Un-semiprotecting, there's a suggestion (by me) that we change the protection page so there's a default period of a month there, thus requiring the protecting admin to actively change a page if they want to protect a page indefinitely. The feedback seems to be all in favour of the change. Of course, I have no idea how this would be accomplished - is it through a change to the MediaWiki interface? Or would I have to register and learn how to use Bugzilla to file a request? Neıl ☎ 14:27, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
Hello Ais523. How are you? Thanks for all your answers. I have some private questions about Wikipedia. I have few questions and I want to send you an email. You are not around. When will you have free time? Regards, Masterpiece2000 ( talk) 08:56, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for responding to the help Mr_KC ( talk) 16:58, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
Or not about that directly, but rather, the underlying idea. Have you given any thought to a stub-tagging (and ideally, also stub-sorting) script that uses menus? I keep meaning to look into this, but my javascript sucks (a lot), and I repeatedly fail to get around to it. Alai ( talk) 00:06, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
That's pretty darn good! This would be adaptable to use trees with different "fanout", so's to make for shorter lists to scroll through, wouldn't it? Alai ( talk) 00:36, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
I just saw the message you left in the Newsroom. I am happy to have a try at your report if you want. Is it just getting bugs off Bugzilla, and new features (off Wikipedia:VP)? Also, I cannot do your report for 2/1. If you could reply ASAP, that would be nice so I could start. -- Whiteandnerdy111 ( talk) 19:24, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your note about the .check-icon class in MediaWiki:Common.css and while I hadn't previously been aware that it would now work where there was a commons-but-no-local image I am also aware that there is a test limit of, iirc, 100 uses per page. The page concerned ( User:AlisonW/Rail Icons - kept in userspace because it can't be used by screen readers or non-CSS browsers) would presently have 7,740 calls to the function and would - clearly - be a far too heavy load on the servers. I tried testing many other methods before taking the decisions to copy the style across from meta but would welcome practical and sensible alteratives. -- AlisonW ( talk) 20:22, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Just wanted to say thanks once again for the helpful suggestion yesterday - it was much appreciated! My left hand is starting to cramp from all the cutting, pasting, and formatting, but the changeover is done now.
Only problem that I've ended up with is as a result of redirecting the original page to the new category. I had to fix some double redirects, and those redirected pages are now showing in that category too, which isn't ideal.
Again, much thanks! Mlaffs ( talk) 02:19, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
you know the clock you allowed me to use? well how can i set it to Pacific Standard Time? I tried to do so, but it doesnt work; can you tell me how to set it to UTC-8? thanks

Thank you ais523 Spartan-112 ( talk) 01:40, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
PS: i remembered to sign it this time!!!
When you create stories related to BRION, it might be easiest to place them at User:ais523/Signpost/Name, where "Name" is a really short description (e.g. for this story, "New parser", "Parser", etc.) that can be used in the footer when I publish. I'll leave that name intact when I move the page. If you do that, you can link the stories together yourself (like you did at the bottom of the parser story), and they'll turn blue when we publish. It's not a big deal, but it should make things a bit easier for both of us. Ral315 ( talk) 00:14, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Do you know if the AutoAFD script still works? It doesn't seem to for me (I've removed it for the moment, trying to get Twinkle to work with the Modern skin for me). It looks like you were the last one to make any changes to it, so I thought I'd ask. Thanks, Avruch talk 16:04, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Can any of these cool admins help me? I want to add one sentence to the world of Wikipedia. But I can't. The sentence is factual, provable, (based on the New York Times for goodness sake) but I can't get it on.
Fact: Circumcision decreases a man's risk of getting HIV Fact: Circmcision INcreases a man's risk of getting herpes and chlamydia.
The article on "circumcision" mentions the term HIV probably 100 times (I'm not joking) and mentions "herpes" or "chlamydia" not Once.
Can any of you cool administrators stop two guys named Avraham and Jakew from deleting my ONE sentence I want to add? Thanks, 70.114.38.167 ( talk) 06:14, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for your signpost articles, and your scripts. I've found them enormously useful.
I noticed on Village pump (technical) a bug in the latest editredlink code. I was going to report it to bugzilla, but I noticed it was *already* fixed in subversion (r31218). However, en.wikipedia.org is running an older version (r31183). Do you know what sort of schedule is used to update en.wikipedia.org's version of mediawiki?
I feel I should mention it again, thanks very much for your signpost article. It is simple, clear, concise, and makes it possible to keep up with the code changes. JackSchmidt ( talk) 20:49, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

On my user talk page I have a section called Help regarding bold in watchlists. In it, I explain that I'm trying to get my watchlist to make bold the page titles of any new changes since my last viewing. Like how WoWWiki does it. One of the suggestions was to try User:Ais523/watchlistnotifier.js. Is there anyway I can use that script to only do what I'm looking for as expressed above?-- Rockfang ( talk) 02:09, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Hey, this is a very useful script! One problem, though. I see new admins come up very often, and I would like to update this page (sure others want to too). I was thinking you might want to move that to the Wikipedia namespace (or just remove the JS at the end), so other people can update it. It would reduce the amount of time you would have to update it (the last time it was updated was February 18). Do you think that would be a good idea? Thanks, Soxred93 | talk bot 06:04, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Dear Sir,
I have received a message from you informing me of the deletion of 'spam links' inserted by me and am very distressed by being termed as such. I think it only proper to clarify my actions as well as know how I can add links without running foul of Wikipedia policy which I can assure you I respect as much as anybody. My goal is to to make quality content available free for use, very much in line with your 'copyleft policy' of which I stronly advocate. I also intend to upload content onto Wikipedia in the near future.
Mine is a personal website on themes on India and "Paintings on Stamps'(Art and Philately being my passion). It is my endevour to make my site an educational reference site, and therefore have taken care to add content from really authentic sources.
You must be aware than content on India and Philately is still very scarce on the internet and needs to be seen in that context. I request you to see my site in detail and then decide if it is unique, different and detailed enough to merit a link. I have added links when I have felt that it genuinly adds value and information from another angle on the page thay are placed on
I do agree that the links that I have added are from my personal site which also bring in more persons to read my contents but that is not the only reason nor the primary one.Although the site has Ads from Google, Amazon, let me assure you the income is very secondary and anyway hardly covers my hosting cost.
While I respect your policy not to make Wikipedia a collection of links and endorse it, I think it would be a mistake to 'throw the baby out with the bath tub'. There must be a way to add genuine links after due scrutiny by experienced editors (as in the case of DMOZ). Please do tell me how I can do so without running foul with Wikipedia policy.
I shall be grateful for your time and advice on the matter.
With kind regards,
