I was blocked by admin user:HJ Mitchell, who I recognize is an excellent admin so I believe he simply made a quick mistake here as I recognize sometimes happens, and the reason given was "for making (or attempting to make) disruptive edits that triggered the edit filter." I do not believe I made any disruptive edits whatsoever. And do not know what edits it is being said triggered the edit filter. This has not been shared with me, though I would be interested in seeing them to understand what I believe must be a mistake - as to whether I made any disruptive edits. Please share with me what edits I was blocked for, so I can address any concerns as to them. I only add material with RS refs. And only add what I believe are clearly useful contributions, in line with WP rules. It is for that reason that I think that no block is necessary - or appropriate -- to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia. I am only interested in editing in a manner that does not cause damage or disruption.

The block related to my IP address 2603:7000:2101:AA00:3CE5:C9FE:8AB4:C029.

I appealed and user:RickinBaltimore wrote to me: "As you still have access to your talk page, and as there is no private information associated with your appeal, please post your unblock request to your user talk page for administrator review. You can follow the guide at /info/en/?search=Wikipedia:Guide_to_appealing_blocks."

But that was not the case under that talk page -- it only allowed me access to the page for the one solitary post I made. And then did not allow any other access for me to post. Which was why I appealed here per wp instructions .. https://utrs-beta.wmflabs.org/public/appeal/view But now that my IP address has rotated it apparently allows me to post on this talk page.

This is all as you might imagine quite frustrating. I appreciate an admin weighing in. 2603:7000:2101:AA00:A8DA:3FD6:9351:C4BB ( talk) 20:47, 23 April 2024 (UTC) reply

Decline reason:

I can't link to the edit filter for this entire range, but but no edit filters were tripped from this specific IP. The other issue seems to be that someone on this IP persistently removes content without communication about it, such as responding to concerns of other editors. IPs and IP ranges can be used by multiple people, so if you don't think you did anything wrong, or you didn't make any of these edits, you probably didn't, and you should request an account via WP:ACC so that your edits are your own and you aren't affected by blocks caused by others. 331dot ( talk) 09:09, 25 April 2024 (UTC) reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{ unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
