User:Dineshkannambadi has been working hard to raise articles to featured status. Non-English citations are allowed with translation, but they should be avoided on English Wikipedia, if the English citations are available. He is right when he says that the Marathi citation might be removed during review. See Wikipedia:Citing_sources#When_you_add_content:
“ | Because this is the English Wikipedia, English-language sources should be given whenever possible, and should always be used in preference to other language sources of equal calibre. | ” |
Since an English citation is available, I don't think that the Marathi translation is necessary. Anyways, I leave it up to you and other editors to solve the issue out. Just remember -- keep cool when the editing gets hot! I have also asked Dinesh to avoid revert wars. I hope that two of you can work together and make constructive contributions. Good luck! utcursch | talk 04:14, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
Hi there, I saw your request on my page. I was kinda busy for the last few days, so couldn't reply. Sorry for that. Yeah, I took a look at the concerned pages. There seems to be some tension in the editing. I request you to please "keep your cool". I will look into the matter and will get back to you. But, it's my genuine request, that you do not get into revert wars as they do not serve any purpose at all. Be patient, be cool-headed and your valuable contributions will certainly be appreciated. Thanks, -- N R S | T/ M\ B 06:12, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi. Happy new year to you. I have left a detailed message on the discussion page of above article as to how we can stop this reverting going on. Please see if its acceptable to you. If it is, then we can proceed with the steps.thanks. Dineshkannambadi 03:12, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

Thank you. — P ilotguy ( ptt) 20:59, 1 January 2007 (UTC)I am editing history articles of medieval India ( Yadavas of devagiri Rashtrakuta Chalukya) etc. I want to know about which scripts are permitted at add in these historical empires? What is the official policy? In Yadavas of devagiri kannada script is added even when a historian claims that they are Kannadigas whereas i Have citations for 2-3 for Rashtrakutas and 2 for Chalukyas. Can I get a definate and accurate answer? Vishu123 06:04, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
I think it would be best to ask this question at Wikipedia:WikiProject India. The {{ helpme}} template is more for editing questions about Wikipedia in general. I have added a welcome template below. — Centrx→ talk • 06:16, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Please quote the names of books by Vaidya/Bhandarkar/Rajawade who claim Maratha origin of Chalukyas, Rashtrakuta, Kadamba etc and I shall purchase them and read them. Also remember, dont confuse caste with language. Maratha is a cast, not a language.thanks. I know what exactly Altekar says as he has been referenced by my sources too. I have intimated admins blnguyen and utcursch to bring together a large gathering of admins/senior wikipedians to decide the validity of non-english language books and self translations in English wikipedia.thanks. Dineshkannambadi 17:06, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
First learn wikipedia rules. Citations are not acceptable in the LEAD section and may appear only in the sections below. While you are not capable of getting any articles to FA status, dont throw your "so called citations" in the LEAD and spoil the article. We all know you are not in wikipedia to achieve anything useful. The number of sock accounts you have created over the last 6 months must be mind boggling even to you, given this where is the credibility of your character and historical readings.thanks. Hello Vishu123, I believe you are in an ongoing dispute with Dineshkannambadi. I suggest you follow the steps outlined in the dispute resolution process. If talking or disengaging doesnt help, go for third party mediation. There are provisions for all these on wikipedia. Admin intervention is not going to help solve content disputes. Let me know if anything is unclear — Lost (talk) 11:37, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
I wouldn't have reverted it if you weren't removing cited information. Neutrality tags can be removed after talk page discussion agreeing that they are not needed, or removed after a day if no explanation is given by the tagger as to why they added it. The references tag stays, because that section does need references. (Needing references is not the same as being untrue, just unverified.) -- tjstrf talk 07:30, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
Here is a cut and paste from the page you linked in my user page:
When you add content All material that is challenged or likely to be challenged needs a source.
The need for citations is especially important when writing about opinions held on a particular issue. Avoid weasel words such as, "Some people say ..." Instead, make your writing verifiable: find a specific person or group who holds that opinion and give a citation to a reputable publication in which they express that opinion. Remember that Wikipedia is not a place for expressing your own opinions or for original research.
Because this is the English Wikipedia, English-language sources should be given whenever possible, and should always be used in preference to other language sources of equal calibre. However, do give references in other languages where appropriate. If quoting from a different language source, an English translation should be given with the original-language quote beside it.
Read carefully' the highligted material.
Marathi citations may be your preference, not wikipedia's. My citations have more value than yours, hence your need to go.thanks. Dineshkannambadi 14:35, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
Here is a cut and paste from your link
Searching and referencing books via Google Book Search
Google Book Search gives us the veracity of published books, and the convenience of online sources. To search it, search
http://print.google.com . For example, to search for mentions of Michael Ledeen in printed books, use the following Google search: "Michael Ledeen" on print.google.com. You should find scanned pages from the book.
When you find books on Google Print, don't link directly to that page. Instead, include a standard reference (author, title, ISBN) in the usual book format.
Retrieved from " http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Fact_and_Reference_Check/Guidelines"
The above message does not say you can build stories with a few words in a page(s). It just says how to find books by an author and how to find mentions of a name in the pages of a scanned book. It does not say the info can be used as a "citation" and how one could build a story out of it. User:Blnguyen clearly told you, your searches only mentions the name Marathi without any context. You created a context for your convinience which makes your citation inadmissible. Wikipedia gives users some flexibility in google look ups, but this does not mean you misuse it and bring down the quality of citations and content. No review committe will accept your citations as FA standard. thanks. Dineshkannambadi 14:42, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
Your tag on Vijayanagar empire was meaningless as the tiny section you tagged had 7 English language citations.I have removde it.thanks. Dineshkannambadi 15:37, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
maybe you would like to help out.-- D-Boy 17:10, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

Request reason:
What should one do when my other accounts were blocked unnecessarily. You guys are acting upon Mr.Kannambadi's wishes. I am a marathi person and i know my history very well. Why is this partisan attitude. You think I will keep quiet when i have spended few hundred rupees on books and several nights to get the content. You are wrong. I will try my best to defend our history articles. Still I am not understand is their any rationale of blocking me?Why was Itihaas blocked, why did Mrtag? I am not Sarvabhaum. He is my collegue and when I was blcoked twice i requested him to use my id to edit since perhaps 2 users from one id are not allowed.U r suppressing the truth.Mr.Kannambadi is a lingual chauvinist of highest order adding nonsense to Maharashtra'history.
Decline reason:
Please limit yourself to the use of one account, and strive to avoid any abusive sockpuppetry, such as using multiple accounts to evade blocks. If you'd like to request unblocking, I suggest you do so from your main account. Sorry. Luna Santin 12:16, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{ unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
A user with the Checkuser privilege has confirmed that you are related to User:Sarvabhaum. Even if this is not sockpuppetry, it is meatpuppetry. Besides, you've accepted that you have created the sockpuppet accounts of User:Mrtag and User:Itihaas. This is the only reason that you've been banned. You've not been banned for edit wars with User:Dineshkannambadi.
As about articles such as Seuna Yadavas of Devagiri, the only reason that I've stayed away is that I'm busy on weekdays. I'll fix the article on weekend. utcursch | talk 11:51, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
There is no policy that says that one network should have only one editor. As User:Luna Santin has suggested, please request unblocking from your main account, User:Mrtag. According to the guidelines, the administrator who unblocks, needs to discuss the matter with the one who blocked the user. Apart from sockpuppetry, the admin ( User:Aksi_great) who blocked your main account, has cited disruptive edits as another reason for the block.
As about the Kannada script, I am personally against all kinds of vernacular scripts. The editors who've included the Kannada script on the page have reasoned that Kannada was one of the official languages, at least during the early period. Suryanath Kamat is not the only source for this information. There are other sources such as the Kannada inscriptions belonging to the Yadava dynasty, A V Narsimha Murthy, O P Varma, Shrinivas H Ritti etc. Again, not all of these authors are Kannadigas. For eg., O P Varma -- his book was published by Vidarbha Samshodhana Mandal, Nagpur. He stated that Kannada was definitely one of the official languages, apart from Marathi and Sanskrit.
It's very clear that Marathi was the chief language during most part of the Yadava dynasty, but there are historians who believe that Kannada was one of the official language, at least during the early period. If you feel that it should be removed, please discuss the matter and wait for consensus -- don't just go and make some changes that might seem disruptive to other editors.
I will have a look the parts that I've missed ("peculiarities of Marathi culture...") and add them. Regards. utcursch | talk 10:23, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

Firstly, I'm not endorsing anybody. Dnyaneshwar's quotes about Marathi language have got nothing to do with the page on Yadava dynasty. He didn't claim descent from Yadavas either -- he was born in a Deshastha Brahmin. I've already explained why I didn't include "throw of Kannada rule by Yadavas".
As about Chalukyas, Rashtrakutas, etal, I prefer not to edit subjects which I don't know much about. Like I've pointed out earlier, I edited the Yadava dynasty article only after doing a lot of research.
Your edits were reverted by User:Luna Santin as per the norms -- edits by block-evading users are reverted. I had left a note at User talk:Aksi great yesterday, but there has been no response so far.
Have a second look at the link I provided you. There is a section Wikipedia:Resolving_disputes#Further_dispute_resolution. utcursch | talk 12:30, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
