According to the ALA, the only controversy involving kansas and Harry Potter up to 2001 (when the article was written) was this one [1], but it doesn't appear to have resulted in a banning. There are no references at all to any bannings in California or Colorado. "Michigan" probably refers to the Zeeland Michigan school library banning that led to the formation of KidSPEAK!. "Jacksonville" and "Orlando" may refer to this lawsuit threat, though the article does not specifically mention Harry Potter in that sentence and this goes way beyond a "protest." Thank you for adding to the article, which needed it. You have introduced several things I did not know and would not have found.
But do we really need Mueller, that crank-magnet? Septentrionalis PMAnderson 22:10, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
Graves says "makes water"; his African rain-charm requires it. "Whole beef" is the best I can do not to say more than the ancient sources (Graves also says "bullhide"); please do edit to suit yourself. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 15:36, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
With regards to the FT nom of Victoria Cross do i have to withdraw the nomination of the FT before requesting a review for one of the topics? I do intend to put one of the separate articles up for review but am wondering whether this is allowed whilst it is still a FTC. The WP:FT rules do state that "Items that cannot achieve a high rating due to their limited subject matter have passed an individual audit for quality." As such i will put them up for review with the milhist project. Thanks in advance. Woodym555 12:22, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
You will see that one of the questions at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Orion (mythology) is whether the lead actually describes the article. I really am too close to tell; could you take a look and redesign it if necessary? Septentrionalis PMAnderson 17:37, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
The POTD for August 8 is a really wide image, so I cropped a small portion of it, leaving a link to the wide version of it. If I can remember, I will just protect that on Commons since it's a 7.85 MB file. howcheng { chat} 00:34, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
Ditto for August 16. howcheng { chat} 23:43, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
Your recent Geonotice request has been accepted. It should be implemented in the next few days. Matt/TheFearow (Talk) (Contribs) (Bot) 09:26, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
Hi, I have a question about a possible featured topic.
Would the topic "Episodes of The Simpsons relating to The Itchy & Scratchy Show" be an acceptable topic, with the lead article being The Itchy & Scratchy Show? Thanks for the time, Scorpion 0422 02:04, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
During Zhou Tong's stint as the featured article, you commented on the poor quality of the lead photo in his info box. I have since then replaced it with a line drawing from his biographical comic book. Tell me what you think of the change. -- Ghostexorcist 03:38, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
Hi, Pharos,
Seeing that you're an admin, I'd like to ask you for some help. When I first started Wikipedia two years ago, I had no real idea what I was doing, and I uploaded all of my images to Wikipedia itself (I have since deleted the stupid ones). I was wondering if you could help me delete all of these photos on Wikipedia, and have them uploaded to the Commons instead, as is proper etiquette. Thanks, -- MosheA 18:55, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
Hi there. Just wanted to you to know that User:Zzyzx11 has set up something on Commons (see Commons:User:Zzyzx11/En main page, which is cascade-protected) that no longer necessitates the c-uploading of POTD (as well as TFA and SA) pictures. I think it's maintained by script or bot or something. Regards, howcheng { chat} 17:07, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
Dear Admin,
User Ward3001 left me an ugly message on my Wiki page for deleting a citation needed and then not properly implementing the source (I had put it in the edit summary, but accidently left it out of the article). Now I have this glaring on my page. I was wondering if it would be against Wiki policy to remove this warning, and whether or not you could leave a message like this on Ward3001's page. I assure you that I am a respectable Wikipedian, and have not vandalized; I would never delete a citation needed unless I had the source to back it up, which I did. It was easily ratified, and I believe that Ward3001 just overreacted when it could've been fixed in a few seconds (as I indeed have).
With profound respect,
-- MosheA 18:05, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
I want to apologize since, having performed a majority of recent DYK updates, I was likely responsible for those failures to upload from common. Circeus 03:24, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
In this edit you say "there has to be a consensus to -change the policy on MainPage images". What policy would that be? The Main Page is in the article space, and fair use images are allowed there. Prodego talk 17:14, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
Now that we have 2 featured kingdom hearts articles, soon 3, so if you switch from oppose to support, we will have a new featured topic! Judgesurreal777 17:53, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
how do i make my own userbox?
THAT PIC IS NOT ME!!
Thanks to your patience in dealing with nitpickers, Orion (mythology) is now a featured article!
We can therefore restore the paragraphs to the usual convention of one subject per paragraph. You have more sympathy for the present state than I do; would you take a look at it when you get back? Septentrionalis PMAnderson 17:42, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
Some questions have been raised about the date of 950 BC in your Berber calendar article. Your clarification on your intended meaning and your source for such information would be appreciated; please see Talk:Berber calendar. Thanks.-- Pharos 02:14, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
