You were blocked for "block evasion" i.e., the allegation is that you are a blocked user who created this new account to get around a block on another one (see also Wikipedia:Sock puppetry). I do wish the block log notice contained a more specific description of why you were blocked, or a notice was posted here explaining why, such as mentioning a sockpuppet investigation, or the name of the other account it is alleged you were blocked under, but I can determine one thing from your two edits. In your edit summary when you posted the above unblock template, you wrote "Got help from 'xeno', thanks xeno". This indicates to me that you have indeed been editing under another account or at least as an IP, since you are referring to specific help, by a specific user, when your current account has only one edit other than this unblock, and Xeno had no interaction with that other edit.-- Fuhghettaboutit ( talk) 12:01, 25 June 2011 (UTC) reply

Xeno is one of your guys on the English Arbitration Committee, who responded to my e-mail requesting unblock, because I didn't know how to resolve the problem. He advised me to post the first  :: unblock | reason= text-of-reason + signature which I did & you can read here. Apparently, that was the only method to come out of this silly stuff. His e-mail address is : [email protected], so why don't you check with him. Gosh, you guys are really paranoid! I am a newcomer, and I have absolutely nothing to do with any previous account. Simply, I am a scientist who is working on a white paper that I intend to publish on the topics of cosmology & astrophysics, in the annals of the Max Planck Solar Research Institute. Once my research is completed, I may include my paper into Wikipedia. But if this is the treatment I get from the reception committees, harsher than even the Max Planck SRI, I may just have to pass... -- NotURmonkey ( talk) 13:43, 25 June 2011 (UTC) }} reply

Request reason:

I chose handle "notURmonkey" to register with Wikipedia yesterday. In order to test whether my editing was ok with 'the rules', I tried editing something innocuous (not dangerous to the community, which I intended to respect), so I placed a "regret" in the attendance list for the NYC Wiknic. Apparently, it was ok, and the page once redisplayed showed my response. (I had appropriately placed the ignature+timestamp). Later, while browsing around, I found out I was blocked. Furthermore, as the unblocking procedure mentioned to use the "talk" feature, I discovered that was also blocked. I understand the system has to be protected, but isn't that a bit puzzling for a newbie with the best of intentions ? Please help. notURmonkey NotURmonkey (talk) 10:32, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

Accept reason:

I have spoken with the blocking admin who has given his go ahead and am unblocking you. I am placing a garish welcome template below with a lot of useful information. Cheers.-- Fuhghettaboutit ( talk) 14:57, 25 June 2011 (UTC) reply

You've had a rough entry, NotURmonkey. I hope things go smoother for you from now on. By the way, you didn't mention which great country you were invited into, but never mind that. That's a nice bunch of useful links Fuhghettaboutit sent you; I only got a list of 6 links when I joined up. Cheers "Pij" ( talk) 04:53, 2 July 2011 (UTC) reply
