Slow down
You should slow down your archiving from 12 hours to a more reasonable time (a few days at the least). This gives you and others time to reply, as, (contrary to popular belief...) I'm not on Wikipedia all day. For instance, you never got time to reply to
this ongoing thread.

However, it would be nice if you could give some kind of indication as to what license the media is under. That way other people can be confident in making use of it for many varied purposes :)
Adding license information also helps prevent media you've put effort into creating from being deleted :)
So sorry. I am familiar with image policy; I'm not sure why the license I specified at the upload form was not placed on the image. I have now placed the license upon the image.--mono 18:31, 29 May 2010 (UTC)reply

Been scouring the Internet again, because I had a bit of free time on memorial day, and it is now 9:30 pm. Recently asking around for user pages, I saw two of them that appeared to have retired:
User:Thanks for all the fish and
User:So Long and Thanks for all the Gravitas. (Yes admittedly i is a fan of dooglaas aadaams.) What should I do with them? P.S. Just in case, I may have some retired templates retiring around here somewhere...

(
talk page stalker) In response to your original question, you should do nothing. Neither of them have been active in a long time. Some people come by, create an account, and then disappear. A "retired" template is probably unnecessary. Here's one emoticon:
There's a list, I think, but I don't know where. Also, what do you mean by asking around for userpages? If you want to usurp one of the two, go for the first one. PrincessofLlyrroyal court 13:58, 1 June 2010 (UTC)reply

I'm afraid you misunderstood me. Both edits by the ip addresses
User talk:71.108.20.219 and
User talk:71.118.7.108 were made by me when I didn't log on, and they were test edits. Thanks for the good faith edits to their (mine?) respective talk pages anyways. (Perhaps I should have mentioned these in the edit summaries next time.) Yours truly,
:| TelCoNaSpVe :| 01:06, 31 May 2010 (UTC)reply
Since they were different IPs, I didn't get the "self-revert" idea. Thanks for clarifying.--mono 01:22, 31 May 2010 (UTC)reply
Yeah, my ip address changed before I had time to revert my own changes to my subpages, so it was kinda confusing. But could I remove the warnings on the talk pages of the ips since those were mine to begin with and the warnings were a bit unneccessary?
:| TelCoNaSpVe :| 01:31, 31 May 2010 (UTC)reply
That's fine. Normally, I would have used those warnings, except it was you! mono 01:32, 31 May 2010 (UTC)reply

Now, if only I could remove the warning on my own talk page.:| TelCoNaSpVe :| 01:51, 31 May 2010 (UTC)reply
Did you know that you can use two apostrophes to make italic text? I'll remove the warning for you; I wrote a note for the user.mono 01:58, 31 May 2010 (UTC)reply
Mono, I'm not sure you're in the best position to be warning others about using Huggle irresponsibly--at least, please make it sound less over-polite-perfect-almost-fake-sounding? with your tone. Oh, and "Keep working and be more careful; you'll be a much better candidate for RfA, if/when you apply." isn't really the best thing to say... it sort of implies that working toward RfA is correct, and that it's a goal... Slon02 isn't a new editor, so there's no need to make your messages sound like fancy templates.. —
fetch·comms 02:11, 31 May 2010 (UTC)reply
I do not use Huggle. If you want misuse of tools, see
User:NSD... Should I have screamed at the editor: USE HUGGLE RIGHT OR ELSE YOU WILL BE BLOCKED FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER? RfA is not a goal, I tried to state that adminship isn't that great (there's a reason the logo is a mop). Perhaps you'd like to clarify to that user. mono 02:17, 31 May 2010 (UTC)reply
←I also took the time to write the user in question a nice, polite note. I simply crafted some phrases into a more eloquent tone. mono 02:19, 31 May 2010 (UTC)reply
Hello, Mono. You have new messages at
Slon02's talk page. You can
remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
I never said you used Huggle... nor do I appreciate hinting at others' faults. You should have read and, rather than sound eloquent, it was rather fake-templaty-sounding, although that wasn't your intent. Whatever happened to talking regular? "Be a bit more careful", etc.? KISS. And I'm tired of dealing with adminship stuff. —
fetch·comms 03:00, 31 May 2010 (UTC)reply
I have to agree with your opinion on the adminship mess. I was guilty of it: you get new users who think it is some sort of godship or whatever. mono 03:05, 31 May 2010 (UTC)reply
Hey, now. Sorry about barging into your conversation uninvited, but I don't view adminship as a godship and I was fully aware that is was more like "janitor duty". However, I understood that Mono was providing constructive criticism, and I appreciate him doing so. --

WP:REFLINKS and did some stuff there, but I can't find which revision you used. Nothing seems to match up; I've spent a while. Could you link to the revision? mono 03:22, 31 May 2010 (UTC)reply
Logically, it should be the one that comes right before the timestamp on FC's review. About NSD, I think you're being a bit, well, harsh. I saw the note, and it sounds impersonal to me (echoing FC). I'm sure NSD is trying to fix the reverting problem; also see Soap's comment there. And what is the GA list doing at the bottom of
Talk:MacBook Air? Should it not be at least in the peer review?
Airplaneman ✈ 03:33, 31 May 2010 (UTC)reply
Skimming over the nonsensical comments lining the page, I realized that you have followed
User:Brambleclawx's advice and MfDed the other vandalism space pages as well, to quote, "If you want to delete this, surely, you would want to delete
this,
this,
this,
this,
this,
this,
this,
this,
this..." The reasons you listed for the first... three?... it seems, are repetitive, and correct me if I'm wrong on this, but, have
WP:IDL,
WP:WAX,
WP:ALLORNOTHING,
WP:NOTAGAIN and so forth. It does not look favorable you having nominated these pages repetitively. 71.108.6.222 (

(
talk page stalker)This isn't directed at me, but I feel the need to add a few comments. First off, TeleComNasSprVen, that was not advice. It was supposed to be a neutral, somewhat sardonic/sarcastic semi-question. So please don't call it that. Secondly, Mono, I'm not opposing your actions, since you are entitled to your own views, but I suggest it would be better to propose vandalism page deletion on somewhere like
WP:VPP instead of mass MfD-ing. Brambleclawx 01:11, 1 June 2010 (UTC)reply
Alright, so your little query wasn't a question. Now that we've
established that, what should we do about the MfDs, you know, for Mono to save server space? Everything else I say still stands, you know. And FC over there is so funny: he copied and pasted all his comments so that it looks like "NM:Delete, per
this, FC:Keep, per
that."
:| TelCoNaSpVe :| 03:36, 1 June 2010 (UTC)reply
I agree; after seeing how many I would have to MfD, I am working on a proposal.--mono 02:48, 1 June 2010 (UTC)reply
Lolsarcasm. Don't bother, mono, perennial proposals and whatnot. It'll always be a no consensus. Why don't we, uh, all forget about MfDing peoples' userspace and instead work on building the encyclopedia? Lolwut, that's such a brilliant idea! *facepalm* —

Well, as you know from previous experiences with me, I don't get some of the jokes that are thrown my way, and the same will apply to some others who visit your userpage. But it is your userpage ;).

Just Kind of Curious
When did you decide to crusade against vandalspaces? I don't think they're necessary, but it's also unnecessary to go and delete them all. I liked them. I probably would have ended up vandalizing when I was mad if those weren't there. But now that they've been marked for death, I should let them go. But why are you the one who goes against them so badly??
2D MaestroImmune Diplomat 12:11, 1 June 2010 (UTC)reply
The implications of users becoming distracted from the goal at hand is a serious threat to the productivity of users on Wikipedia. Unlike guestbooks or barnstars, vandalspaces do not build "a spirit of friendliness and co-operation and helps people get to know each other", quoting from Mr. Wales. I've found that they contain stuff that would be reverted immediately and cause a user to be blocked very quickly in the mainspace. mono 18:03, 1 June 2010 (UTC)reply
The implications of one wasting his or her time to MfD all these pages is even bigger :O Who even cares to go around spending time to look for all these silly pages? —
fetch·comms 19:57, 1 June 2010 (UTC)reply

I would like to make it clear that I do not operate any sockpuppets. I have read
WP:SOCK very carefully and have disclosed my only other alternative account,
Monomium. A user,
Domthedude001, has expressed a concern about an editor,
User:Johnuniq, having a possible connection with my account, due to the fact that the user voted in some of my recent MfDs.
Domthedude001 states that his friend
Johnuniq (
talk·contribs) (possible alt account) has been going through all of his MfDs supporting his decisions in a systematic matter, which is certainly not true, as I have never interacted with the user on Wikipedia. I am sure
Johnuniq (
talk·contribs), who I have just become aware of, is equally outraged about these hollow accusations.
I have about 9,000 edits; Johnuniq has about 7,000. Sockpuppet accounts usually begin making controversial/disruptive edits quickly after they are created.
The type of articles Johnuniq edits are different from what I edit. See
here vs.
here. Also see that Johnuniq's interests focus on evolution and mathematics, but most of my time is taken resisting the erosion of articles by unhelpful changes or linkspam additions.
I don't program much; Johnuniq does.
So, Domthedude001 if you'd like to start a SPI, go ahead! CheckUser will confirm that I am not socking; if it doesn't look like a Mono, doesn't swim like a Mono, and doesn't quack like a Mono, it's probably not a Mono.
I'd like to withdraw any accusations I have made. --
Domthedude001 21:51, 1 June 2010 (UTC)reply
@Mono: Thanks for the message. @Domthedude001: No harm done so I'm not concerned. I can imagine that having one's user pages nominated for deletion would be unsettling, but as you have probably now noticed there is no link between Mono and myself. I have been watching MfD recently and commenting there, so it's not surprising that I popped up. Thanks for accepting the nomination, despite a majority of keep comments.

Orphaned non-free media (File:Shake4_box_2.png)
Thanks for uploading File:Shake4_box_2.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a
claim of fair use. However, it is currently
orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed.
You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see
our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "
my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on
criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.

Mono, I don't think the warning was necessary. If you look at my contrib graph on X!'s edit counter, you will see tons of userspace edits in May 2009. I was experimenting with formatting (wikitext) and learning tons about it. I later used the skills I learned by myself (I find learning things like wikitext through trial and error stick quite well, although asking makes it stick too). After I was satisfied, I applied my skills to articles. Just an observation,
