Hi Jpbowen/Archive 7. Thank you for patrolling new pages. I'm curious to know why you passed Lero (software engineering) as suitable for inclusion. Patrolling not only prevents the wrong kind of pages staying online, but is also an opportunity to do some basic improvements and tag them for attention.There is currently a drive to enhance the quality of patrolling - you can help: please read the new tips and tricks at WP:NPP and if there's anything that is not clear, don't hesitate to ask me on my talk page. A tag has been placed on Glyn Lewis requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}

Hi Jonathan! Please don't reduce lead pics to thumbnail size. Everything else in that article has been kept to thumbnail, and for the most part selected so as to be clear at that size. However, the lead pic of Florence cathedral has been enlarged for visual clarity, for comparison between the external view and the plan, and in order to support a number of lines of explanatory text. Given the significance of this building, as defined by the text underneath it, it warrant the extra pixels. Amandajm ( talk) 10:05, 26 October 2011 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Dubai Museum requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. If you look at the page that it appears to be copied from, that is the more robust one -- with further specific info such as hours, contact info, etc. And the style in both is not the encyclopedic tone, but that used by advert-like sites. If you ask the deleting nom to userfy it for you, I'm sure he/she will be happy to do so, and you can restore a non-copyvio version. Or you can start from scratch and create a non-copyvio version. Hi! I'm serving as the wikipedian-in-residence at the Smithsonian Institution Archives until June! One of my goals as resident, is to work with Wikipedians and staff to improve content on Wikipedia about people who have collections held in the Archives -most of these are scientists (from anthropologists to zoologists) who held roles within the Smithsonian and/or federal government. I thought you might like to participate since you are interested in the sciences! Sign up to participate here and dive into articles needing expansion and creation on our to-do list. Feel free to make a request for images or materials at the request page, and of course, if you share your successes at the outcomes page you will receive the SIA barnstar! Thanks for your interest, and I look forward to your participation! SarahStierch ( talk) 19:23, 20 April 2012 (UTC) |

Thanks for your contributions to Four Freedoms (Norman Rockwell). Unfortunately, due to some data loss, I had to do a major revert and many of your changes were lost. I hope you will attempt to improove this article as you had before.-- TonyTheTiger( T/ C/ BIO/ WP:CHICAGO/ WP:FOUR) 04:26, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

The article Software system has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your
edit summary or on
the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the
proposed deletion process, but other
deletion processes exist. In particular, the
speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and
articles for deletion allows discussion to reach
consensus for deletion.

You are invited to the first ever Oxford Wiki Meetup which will take place at The Four Candles, 51 George Street, Oxford, OX1 2BE on Sunday 4 November 2012 from 1.00 pm.
I hope as many people as possible will be able to attend so that we can make this a regular event. If you have never been to one, this is an opportunity to meet other Wikipedians in an informal atmosphere for Wiki and non-Wiki related chat and for beer or food if you like. Experienced and new contributors are all welcome. This event is definitely not restricted just to discussion of Oxford related topics. Bring your laptop if you like and use the free Wifi or just bring yourself. Even better, bring a friend! Click the link for full details. Looking forward to seeing you.
