Hi Graham. Sorry, I may have screwed up the display of images when I amended the DB Bahnhof template last night. Of course we can either fix the template to take the bare filename or require the full entry. I slightly favour the former because it means no extra work when transferring the data from de.wiki, but can live with either. -- Bermicourt ( talk) 18:05, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

Hi Grahamec, thanks for adding the wikiproject Australia link to the talk page of Quadrilateral Security Dialogue. I see that you've rated the article as C-class, meaning that it is "useful to a casual reader, but would not provide a complete picture for even a moderately detailed study," and that it "is still missing important content or contains a lot of irrelevant material," and "should have references to reliable sources." I've provided 27 references from major global papers and the most relevant American think tank, giving one reference at least to support the material in each paragraph. Could you please provide a few quick and concrete suggestions regarding how I can improve the article? Perhaps I should try to cite a number of Chinese sources and have a "response from China" section? Thanks for your help. - Darouet ( talk) 19:55, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

Hi,
Thanks for adding the "Supported by WikiProject Australian Sports" tag to the talk page of the Western Australia Roller Derby page. I'm a newbie to this, and I have a quick question - someone has raised an issue regarding the notability of the organisation, and of Rollerderby as a sport more broadly. Could I use this tag to "politely disagree" by raising the point that there are others that disagree with the assertion that rollerderby is not notable?

I am puzzled as to how you rate this article as a "c".
A "C" article = Considerable editing is needed to close gaps in content and address cleanup issues.
What gaps, and what cleanup issues? It considerably more complete than most of those that have been rated "B". As usual, I am amazed at the apparent irregularity with which articles are rated.
Amandajm ( talk) 13:04, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
Axes If I were you, I would look at your pic, and interpret, because translating it exactly isn't working well. The whole concept isn't translating. It seems to refer to either a bay, or an opening, and may be interchangeable. A bay is an architectural unit, that is repeated horizontally in more or less the same form, e.g. the bays of the nave of a church. A facade can also have clearly defined bays. But in the case of this railway station, it doesn't. So presumably the word referes to the openings.
I would tend to just simplify it to "There are 5 portals on the ground floor with five windows above them on the first floor", or however it should be described. The facts are still coming from the German article, but the expression must be made to work in English.

Hi Grahamec. This question is not aimed specifically at you but, as I don't know who to ask, I am hoping you can help. I write articles on local history in Wikipedia. Soon after I have started them, project banners "magically" appear on the Talk page eg. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:George_Watson_%28mayor%29 which you put there. These banners quite frankly mystify me. I have now seen a lot of them but have yet to really comprehend what they mean or what I should (or shouldn't) be doing in response to them. I must admit to finding the constant rating of "Low importance" and "Start Class" to be somewhat offensive, especially when there was never a single specific comment/suggestion on which I could act. Simply saying "not good enough" isn't very helpful :-( However, I had the impression that since one or more projects seemed to be saying they were taking an interest in the article meant at some time I would see others working on the articles or offering advice or something, but it doesn't seem to happen. Despite doing further work on many of these articles, there is no evidence that the project has done anything to re-assess them, or provide any feedback. Is there something I was supposed to have done in response to these banners appearing -- if so, what was it? I am feeling very discouraged by the constant appearance of these banners, given the amount of time I put into researching and writing the articles. Who or what are these projects and what does it mean when they "claim" an article and provide these non-specific criticisms? My intention was to try to complete the set of biographies on Brisbane mayors but, if the topic is considered so unimportant as each set of banners would seem to be saying, am I just wasting my time? Could you please explain to me the reasoning behind rating 1982 Escort Cup as being of Start quality? The Start Class definition is: "the article has a usable amount of good content but is weak in many areas, usually in referencing. Quality of the prose may be distinctly unencyclopedic, and MoS compliance non-existent; but the article should satisfy fundamental content policies such as notability and BLP, and provide enough sources to establish verifiability. No Start-Class article should be in any danger of being speedily deleted."
The article has each game and incident individually referenced, so cannot be said to be lacking referencing. The prose is formal and straightforward, so certainly encyclopedic. There may be an MoS improvement to get the results tables in a better form, but I would not describe the MoS compliance is non-existent. Notability and verifiability are confirmed by there being a couple of different types of sources, including a book and newspapers from different states. Aspirex ( talk) 06:30, 7 November 2012 (UTC)

Sardaka ( talk) 08:34, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
I agree. It's not a proper name for the line; it goes against Wiki practice and quoting one railway mag isn't decisive. A formal WP:REQMOVE is the only way to reverse it. -- Bermicourt ( talk) 19:58, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
I thought it doesn't make it clear who the photographer is. Since it's taken from a publication, the photographer is probably not the uploader, since the photographer would have the originals and wouldn't need to use the reproduction from a publication. Also, GNU seems to apply to documents, manuals etc, not photos, as far as I can see.
Sardaka ( talk) 07:51, 17 April 2013 (UTC)

Hello Grahamec! I see you've written an article about the Glan Valley Railway (Glantalbahn), a link to which now appears in the Offenbach-Hundheim article. I also notice that you've inserted a link to the Lauter Valley Railway (Lautertalbahn). Furthermore, there is the Landstuhl–Kusel railway link in your new article. Are you planning to write articles about these two thus far red-linked railways? Kelisi ( talk) 01:56, 18 May 2013 (UTC)

Hi Grahamec,
You seem to be a very knowledgeable and active Wikipedian interested in Australian pages and working with the assessment program here. I'm sort of new to substantive work on Wikipedia, but have worked quite hard on the Stanley Bruce over the past months. Well its now been through a fair bit of peer review to get GA status and now to try and get to FA status, and it is almost there but its nomination to FA status just needs a few more supporting voice to get it over the line. If you had the time and wanted to have a look over it and add your support, or review/criticism if it needs more work, that would be really helpful! Thanks heaps, Unus Multorum ( talk) 02:12, 9 September 2013 (UTC)

Grahame dear, Margaret Rodgers was one who supported the notion of the "Priesthood of all believers". But she was not a priest. Never, never, never suggest, in the Anglican Diocese of Sydney that Margaret might have been a priest. She wasn't and she couldn't. She chose to remain there, and work with the system, instead of fighting it, or getting out.
One woman who wrote a short bio when Margaret retired as Archbishop's Media Officer, actually went so far as to refer to Margaret's llustrious Her-story. We do little plays-on-words in Sydney, to remind ourselves that this person isn't quite up there with people who have testicles, so what she achieved, for a female, really is remarkable, isn't it? You would wonder how, more than thirty years after Germaine Greer, anyone could use such twee and discriminating language, but, "Welcome to Sydney!"
Margaret was a deaconess. I thought that she had been made a "deacon", but apparently she hadn't.
If you look at the various things that have been written, you will notice the heavy emphasis on her most recent role "Archbishop's Media Officer" to Peter Jensen (bishop). The emphasis on this role in all the current Sydney Anglican media, makes it clear that, ultimately, a man was in charge. Do I sound bitter and resentful? Amandajm ( talk) 02:28, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

Graham, I've never been able to get my head around tags but I'm pleased you are always looking after me. Likewise I'm not sure what is happening when I'm told you have "patrolled" my work but it feels safe! As you can see I struggle with a lot of things and so haven't even created my own user page but it doesn't hold me back. One thing that really annoys me is "alma mater" in info boxes (why isn't it just education in all of them?) but I've no idea how to get around that problem. Hi Graham,
I appreciate your work tagging the Queensland Heritage Register articles currently being rolled out, but I've been wondering if you could hold off on doing them until they've been up a while. At the moment (and this has happened a number of times now) you're blocking any talk page conversations about articles from showing up in people's watchlists, because you run through and tag them as a bloc, and any talk page with actual discussion shows up in people's watchlists as just being another talk page with only tags. It gets a bit frustrating when I'm trying to get article issues discussed and the only way editors in that area know that there's actually real discussion on that page if they're reading my user contributions page. Hello Grahamec,
I have been writing pages about Australian plants and I've noticed then when I do, you mark their talk pages with a quality and importance rating for the Australia portal. Thank you very much for doing that. I am happy for you to continue doing so but it must be an onerous (boring?) job. You nearly always rate them Start Class, Low Importance - I'm fine with that too but if you would like me to rate them myself, I can do that. It's nice getting my work looked at by somebody else but I'm happy to save you work if you like. Peter coxhead has suggested I do so for the Plants Portal. Let me know. Best wishes to you and thanks again for all your work. Gderrin ( talk) 02:31, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
Greetings. I recently published a new article on Warrick Couch, and you kindly tagged it as part of Project Biography, with a rating of "C" on the Quality Scale. Thank you for taking the time and effort to do that. My question is - where to go from here? Looking at the Quality Scale, "C" means that "The article is substantial, but is still missing important content or contains much irrelevant material. The article should have some references to reliable sources, but may still have significant problems or require substantial cleanup." The scale's editing suggestions really are not terribly helpful, just saying that "considerable editing is needed to close gaps in content and solve cleanup problems." I would dearly love to know what specific problems the article has and how to address them - both to improve this article, and also to guide my work on future articles so they are higher quality. Is there any way to get some more specific feedback about what the problems are?-- Gronk Oz ( talk) 04:47, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

Hello, thanks for tagging the Bushranger films cat. I was about to categorise all the relevant films when I realised that the Australian Western (genre) films cat has covered the same ground. But from what I can tell, these films are most often referred to as bushranger films, not westerns. This is especially true for the silent film era and many films that followed. "Western" seems like an American name mapped onto the Australian equivalent which is nonetheless distinct. What should be the next step in addressing this? Hi Grahamec. I've seen you working behind the scenes at WP:AUS quite a bit, so I was wondering if you would mind closing an A-class review at WP:AUS/ACR? The article is Australia women's national wheelchair basketball team at the 2012 Summer Paralympics, which has met the criteria (3 supports from prose reviews + image review + source review), but has not yet had an uninvolved editor close the ACR – archive the discussion, change the article's class assessment, etc (the 'Closure procedure' listed at WP:AUS/ACR#Closing_a_discussion). If no-one closes it in a few days, I'll do an WP:IAR close myself (I was involved in reviewing the article), but I think it would be better if it could be done by an neutral uninvolved editor. Hi Grahamec, thanks for adding the Greens Candidate tag to the article I created about Alexandra_Kaur_Bhathal . I wondered if you could help advise on the subsequent current flagging of the article for deletion.
I had created the article because, as a resident in the electorate, I couldn't find an aggregated summary of the information (eg policies, heritage, profession) that had been in numerous news articles over many years Bhathal has been a prominent voice and notable repeat political contender in our community.
I'm not a member of any political party and I think the article is written factually (and has been through three reviews before being accepted for publication) and copiously references unbiased, non partisan sources (and there have been more articles recently, eg https://theconversation.com/election-podcast-the-greens-fight-for-batman-and-wills-60340 and http://www.theaustralian.com.au/federal-election-2016/federal-election-2016-feeney-would-have-lost-without-lib-help/news-story/fb3bf78052aa5a5006bef4ac6b41a363 - does that give it a chance to escape deletion?

I am not an expert on things Roman Catholic but I don't think Bodkin was a priest but rather a monk. He is referred to as Brother Bodkin rather than Father Bodkin. As far as I can see, he was a teacher and carer for orphans. I certainly didn't turn up any reference to him being ordained in any of the bios I found. But I certainly don't claim any special knowledge of the guy; I'd never heard of him until yesterday where he just turned up a few times in quick succession in my researching of other topics in what appeared to be "notable" ways and so I thought I'd do a stub article for him. Hello Grahamec I have rewirtten the whole article Classe365 and removed all the content which was looking as promotional. I do not have any relation with it , I added article on the base of its notability in the Educational Tech solutions. Kindly look in and remove the speedy deletion Tag. Grahame, If you think it is still promotional looking, kindly help to solve it. EShami ( talk) 06:24, 21 November 2017 (UTC)

Hello, Grahamec.
I recently sent you an invitation to join NPP, but you also might be the right candidate for another related project,
AfC, which is also extremely backlogged. |
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Main–Spessart railway, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Main and Neuendorf ( check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

had a very idiosyncratic lead and info box local gov, new south wales. Nothing about Sydney. JarrahTree 15:12, 2 June 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for catching that apparent error in the SHR text - it was used in a few entries so I've removed the sentence from anywhere it was used. The Drover's Wife ( talk) 06:00, 12 June 2018 (UTC)
John Whitton Bridge is actually about the current replacement bridge - it just had an infobox for the old bridge at the top of it (above the one it was actually about), which was confusing and unnecessary. I removed the infobox and linked the old bridge as the main article of that section. The Drover's Wife ( talk) 07:36, 28 June 2018 (UTC)
But its like there is a million items to do with NSW with no project tag (nsw=y) on talk page... what I find a bit more disconcerting is the town articles have been created but no LGA or region cat exists - it feels too big unless I had like a good NSW road map next to me... you any good with putting regional context into any of the million ? Hi, thanks for your work on historical Australian articles. Please note that years, dates, and common terms are not generally linked on en.WP. Here's an example. Also, NSW means nothing to many readers: I've changed it to "Sydney", which will convey immediately that it's not in Cooma or Grafton. Tony (talk) 04:00, 20 July 2018 (UTC)
Hi Grahamec. I was looking at the Shepparton line page and it has an icon for break of gauge like you might be looking for. I havent really got the time right now to learn the coding (i have a deadline at end of month) but might be something to look into?
Though, i think your representation could be more accurately describing what is happening at Toc. IM not sure if there ever was a dual gauge platform of if the lines used different platforms altogether.
You may be interested in Ashbury,_New_South_Wales#Heritage_conservation_in_Australia I believe it breaks all sorts of Wikipaedia rules. The reference given is in fact another wiki article and the author given is the editor who added the reference and not the author of the reference and nothing to do with the University of NSW. This morning I deleted another item he added where he added his name as the author of this whole section. This has been a hobbyhorse of his for some time. wow your edit count you are about to go through to 185k - well done and thanks for what you have done for the oz project! JarrahTree 11:58, 3 November 2018 (UTC)
Last year you assisted in creating a number of redirects as for Werris Creek railway station, Sydney where the next or previous stations were shown as a red link because of a bug in a template. This has now been fixed but the links concerned are now causing a problem in this template which has needed to be expanded to cover this. Hence we are asking for these redirects to be removed - see [2] Your thoughts on this please. Fleet Lists ( talk) 22:08, 13 October 2018 (UTC)
