Hey Daniel; I won't bother copy + pasting back over here, so it's just to say thanks for your understanding. Oh, and please don't say "it was heat of the moment" - your comment was fair, and I recognise it as such.
Read what I reverted, a well known vandal took out information out of the page and I undid it. It's easy to make mistakes as to who to blame, but if you will read the page you will see I reverted vandalism, which yopu just reinstated.
CINEGroup14:11, 18 April 2007 (UTC)reply
Just having a bad day I guess eh? I'll be sure to stay far from you, no offense but your posts on my page read like I vandalised the page and I didn't.
CINEGroup14:14, 18 April 2007 (UTC)reply
Your negligence did revert it back to the vandalised version, which is just as bad as vandalising. Reverting care-free is disruptive, because you are essentially vandalising by reinstating it. Daniel Bryant14:16, 18 April 2007 (UTC)reply
That was the logic I used; that, and PT is a mess to navigate on a slow connection (as I'm on now). I'm a novice in this area, so any further advice is much appreciated. Cheers, Daniel Bryant00:52, 19 April 2007 (UTC)reply
David Laibman
Hi, I am letting you know that I posted a message explaining my actions on the talk section of the
David Laibman page. Could you please look at this and consider/respond?
My friend there was fooling around with my userpage, and I felt the need to test out the protection system, so I used my userpage as a sandbox. Sorry for the alarm bell, didn't mean for that to happen. Thanks for the offer though, I'll make sure I contact you or another administrator in case I need anything like that. Thanks for the welcome, and once again, I apologize. :)

Nothing silly, but I did unblock myself, hope that wasn't out of line. I also reverted all his other blocks. I thought it might be someone hacking into his account, but it's definitely an established user there - blocked a bunch of crats and old users. Bizarre. – Rianaऋ10:26, 19 April 2007 (UTC)reply
I can't see anyone in their right mind accusing you of anything untoward for unblocking yourself, especially when the same user has blocked (amongst others) Jimmy, Danny(isme) and Raul654, and deleted/vandalised the main page.
WP:COMMON :) Daniel Bryant10:28, 19 April 2007 (UTC)reply
Good-o. And yeah, swearing in the block log felt very therapeutic. And unblocking Jimbo was definitely funny :) I wonder what'll happen now? Do we just let it go, or will people want to go to arbcom? – Rianaऋ10:30, 19 April 2007 (UTC)reply
You're right, the report I added would probably be more appropriate at WP:ANI. Thanks for pointing that out :) Cheers! xC |

Who doesn't love Schultz, or
apfelstrudel for that matter :) I'll be there Monday, unless something goes seriously wrong (ie. break a leg, but even then I'll probably wheelchair my way in)... Daniel Bryant02:35, 20 April 2007 (UTC)reply
That's great. Ohhh don't talk about food, I'm starving, and I wouldn't dare eat in this lab... way too grotty. I should check on my distillation now... take care! – Rianaऋ02:37, 20 April 2007 (UTC)reply
Mate, how you going
G'day Mate. How you going. I haven't been round much lately. It feels good. Maybe you need to do the same.
I've been around in patches recently. Welcome back to you :) And a late thanks for you early support at my RfA - much appreciated and very humbling. Cheers, Daniel Bryant00:34, 21 April 2007 (UTC)reply

Did you know? was updated. On
April 20,
2007, a fact from the article Icelanders, which you recently nominated, has been featured in that section on the
Main Page. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the
"Did you know?" talk page.
Nice work! As you know I'm currently on a MUCH needed wikibreak, however, should you need some guidance in the interim may I strongly suggest Daniel,
Sarah,
Riana and Luna - all very friendly and VERY helpful admins :) Enjoy! Glen17:36, 20 April 2007 (UTC)reply
Good evening (
GMT time); just to give you courtesy notice, an editor has expressed some concerns about your conduct at the above page. Nothing big, but nevertheless I thought you would want to know all the same.
Thanks very much for the note. Interesting reading, not that it meant anything to me – the user who said it hasn't talked to me about it, so I presume their thoughts can't be too serious :) It's your editor review, not mine :) Cheers, Daniel Bryant00:32, 21 April 2007 (UTC)reply
hi again
Hey Daniel. Finally sorted out my life enough to consider getting back on here again after my several months hiatus. Was just trailing round my old haunts and saw you'd taken quite a leap since that last time we talked :) Was amazed to see your RFA snowball like that! See I was right when I first nominated you (even if I was wrong to do so...). Catch you around... Tom --ErrantTmorton166(

Heya Tom, welcome back :) Thanks for the compliments. You weren't wrong to nominate me - I accepted, and it was I who was wrong to act like a dick...but that's in the past. Good luck, and again, welcome back! Cheers, Daniel Bryant02:15, 21 April 2007 (UTC)reply
Good evening Daniel; the MedCom dispute that I recently (successfully) mediated has slipped back into dispute. What's your advice - as a non-member, do I leave it to a current mediator to solve the dispute, or do I pick up where I left off, as the editor who was technically the mediator.
I can't see any reason why you shouldn't pick it up again, if the participants have no objection to you doing so. From what I recall, the case (JfJ2?) was handled successfully by you, so you obviously know what's going on. Cheers, Daniel Bryant02:18, 21 April 2007 (UTC)reply
Yes, Jews for Jesus II was the case reference; that's a fair point - I received plenty of support after the mediation ended, but it appears as soon as I turned my back it started back up again :( if they do agree, would you mind keeping an eye over the case? Although I'm highly experienced in Mediation (succeessful cases 15 v. 1 unsuccessful :) the only
formal experience I've tasted is JfJ. By the way, I've been studying
Wikipedia:Mediation, so I'm up to date :) I'll make contact. anthony[
review02:21, 21 April 2007 (UTC)reply
What'd be better is if you get them to file another RFM, to gather everyone's support again (mediation is voluntary, remember) as JfJ 3. Then I'll note that you will take the case again, and we can proceed from there. Cheers, Daniel Bryant02:23, 21 April 2007 (UTC)reply
Hi Dan, I need your help. I want to move
this page to another title, but I can't move it because there is no move button for it. Is there someplace I can go for help with this? Thanks and have a great day!--

Thanks for the nudge :) by the way, I sorted out that malformatted MedCom nomination a few minutes ago. Yeah IRC is fine; shall join now, although I must warn you - I'm an amateur when it comes to this sort of thing, and my internet connection is currently wonky to say the least, so I occasionally cut out. Otherwise, my nick is just anthony_cfc — anthony[

Maybe we share an ISP - my internet connection sucks as well :) Just ping me (type /msg Daniel-Bryant hey) and we'll go from there. Cheers, Daniel Bryant03:13, 22 April 2007 (UTC)reply
Oh, this thread is over three hours old, no wonder. In that case, there is something on the MedCom mailing list I would like you to read. : )

User:Nlu made several excellent progresses already before I arrived by introducing various straw polls. These straw polls gathered a general sense of consensus on the way to make the inclusion of national history templates NPOV. Most of the disputes have been temporally resolved, and further NPOV concerns will only likely be address and resolved when the page is unprotected.
My eyes will stay on the case, but there are currently no real disputes going on. What should I do? AQu01rius (

A
request for mediation has been filed with the
Mediation Committee that lists you as a party. The Mediator accepting this case is a non-MedCom member, and your input is once again required; please sign the relevant section on the
case page, and indicate whether you agree or refuse to mediate with this editor. If you are unfamiliar with mediation, please refer to
Wikipedia:Mediation. There are only seven days for everyone to agree again, so please check as soon as possible. Once all the editors have re-signed, Mediation will be able to begin.
Daniel - I've just came across the Pink Panther's offer to mediate this case; is it appropriate for me to take it, when he/she has already offered too? anthony[
review10:12, 22 April 2007 (UTC)reply
Very appropriate. I do not consider The pink panther to be capable and experienced enough to meet the needs for mediating a dispute, and I would use my MedCom veto if he/she did at this juncture. Daniel Bryant10:12, 22 April 2007 (UTC)reply
I was wondering, is this correct? Or do we have any policies/guidelines that could be followed in such cases?
Apologies if this note seems a little random, I saw your replies on
User:Riana. She said she might be busy for the next few days, so I thought I might pester you :)
Damn - dent in forehead where I keep slapping it - why didn't I think of it? Excellent idea! Thanks for clearing that up! xC |

I know I just posted a note above, but I had another to ask you as well. This user -
User:The pink panther has put up on zir userpage that zir age is thirteen. I remember there was another user, who was twelve and had been editing WP for a while, and his age and other such details were removed from the userpage for privacy concerns. The userpage history was also deleted and it was explained to him that he shouldn't put up his age on WP, as he was far too young.
Since this user is only a year older than that particular case, shouldn't the same be followed here? I'm sorry that I cannot remember the name of the previous user, but I'm sure I'll be able to find it, and I'll post it as soon as I can.
From what I gather, the problem with the twelve year old was the fact that there were further personal information in addition to the age - this combination was the concern, bot the age itself. However, I'm not 100% sure on this. Can I ask you to post to
WP:ANI, because I'm not sure of current practice in this area. Cheers, Daniel Bryant10:10, 22 April 2007 (UTC)reply
Cool – I'll do another 10-or-so SA's and three SP's tomorrow (after I meet with Jimbo :)), and then we'll run off to FPOC :) I'll think up a base for our nomination statement tonight, and then we'll work on it and sign it together tomorrow (ACST). Cheers, Daniel Bryant10:18, 22 April 2007 (UTC)reply
Thanks for your kind words at the RfM - I've posted my reply/statement. I'm off-
Wiki for about 1 hour, so I'll be back at 13:00
BST - will you be around, as I'm planning on getting stuck into the Mediation? anthony[
review10:45, 22 April 2007 (UTC)reply
Hey Daniel - back now. I've got a little request - it's early doors for me on Monday + Tuesday, so I won't be doing the usual night shift - thus, I won'd be signing in at five in the morning (
BST time); is there any possibility you could perhaps sign in at an earlier time - say 06:50
BST? anthony[

Just seems absurdly short. Someone searching for P:S could be expecting any number of things! P:SCO is a bit more specific. – Rianaऋ03:04, 23 April 2007 (UTC)reply
Hey, it was nice meeting you! Turns out my practicals don't start 'til next week, so I basically got the whole day off. Feeling kinda guilty (who am I kidding?) Take care, – Rianaऋ01:05, 23 April 2007 (UTC)reply
When I asked users for their opinion, the template was NOT listed at TfD. I was wondering what I could do to improve the template; I wasn't try to get them to go to TfD and ask to have the template kept.

Withdrawn with apologies due to time mix-up – my date-and-time preferences (
ACST) screwed me over (it changes the times listed in the history, but not signatures). Cheers, Daniel Bryant03:08, 23 April 2007 (UTC)reply
Go Hawks indeed! I bet it makes you Magpie and Swans guys think about defecting! ;) When you boys are ready to face reality, let me know because I'm a HFC member and I get some cash back on my membership for conversions. :) Take care Danny, Sarah03:35, 23 April 2007 (UTC)reply
P.S. I should be careful with my stirring because it's just a matter of time before you guys have the opportunity to get pay back on me and I'm sure you'll make me suffer! :) Sarah03:36, 23 April 2007 (UTC)reply
Conversions? You make it sound like following football is a religion :) I'm glad the Hawks got up this week - I tipped against both Adelaide teams (ie. Pies over Power and Swans over Crows), and both the Adelaide teams won *sigh* luckily, I still got five - I'm now two points off the lead in my tipping competition, though (I'm on 20). Cheers, Daniel Bryant03:42, 23 April 2007 (UTC)reply
Ah Daniel, you're a naive South Australian. In Melbourne, the home of AFL, footy is the number one religion! Congrats on your tipping comp and I'm glad that the Hawks could help you out this week. :) Cheers, Sarah04:17, 23 April 2007 (UTC)reply
They saved me this week. Thanks for your note. Are you going to the Melbourne meetup, by any chance - the Adelaide one this morning was awesome. Daniel Bryant04:19, 23 April 2007 (UTC)reply
Hey; sorry for leaving the status border on "In" mode - fell asleep over the keyboard ;) looks like
Portal:Scotland is in the run for
FPO status! I'd just like to say, Daniel, thanks a million for your work ... it was mostly you, anyway!
Good morning Daniel - I'm off-
Wiki now, and by the time I return, it'll be around 16:30
BST, which I think is half four in the morning, so you should be in bed ;) anyway, talk soon ~
