Your recent article submission to
Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by SamHolt6 was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject
qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published,
reliable,
secondary sources that are independent of the subject. Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see
technical help and learn about
mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Declining; draft needs to cite in-depth, third-party sources indicating that the subject meets
WP:AUTHOR. The MTV claim is promising, if it can be backed with a citation.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit when they have been resolved.

I resubmitted yesterday draft entry on writer Damian Corless but have since found more sources. However when I attempted to submit these additional independent sources I was told the draft is under consideration and I was unable to submit the additional supporting material. Please bear in mind that some profiles, interviews and reviews predate the widespread reach of the internet and are therefore not available/difficult to track.
As a biography of a living person, this article needs further citations (for example, about him being editor of Magill, producer of Rising Time, scriptwriter on 'Don't Quote Me'. His career should be described in chronological order. Notability requires substantial coverage in reliable, independent sources (see
WP:RS) - and if there are online sources, inclusion of weblinks in the inline citations helps other users to verify them.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Paul W}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the

An article you recently created,
Damian Corless, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from
reliable,
independent sources. (
?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (
verifiability is of
central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to
draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's
general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.

Hi Paul,
All of the information contained in the entry for Damian Corless are accurate. Damian is now in his 60s and many citations predate the digital age. For instance, his role as producer of RTE Radio 1's breakfast show Riaing Time, his role as editor of Magill and other posts. His role as scriptwriter on Don't Quote Me was uncredited but very much real. Whoever edited the entry got the opening facts wrong from the information provided. Also excluded was that Corless was the No1 best selling author of singer Christy Dignam's 'Crazy World' confession in 2019. His next book, 'The Birth Of Hip Hibernia' is now being made into an RTE tv documentary series Hip Hibernia to be broadcast in 2023. Please restore the Wikipedia page pending your suggested amendments.

Your recent article submission to
Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Bonadea was:
Some promotional fluff/
peacock wording that has to be fixed, and the text needs to be structured in paragraphs.
The references also need work. See
WP:CITEREF. In addition please remove all refs that don't serve to verify the information or are not reliable and independent, such as "IMDB".

The article Damian Corless was published on Wikipedia and then removed. When I asked why I was told it was the vexatious action of a person who had no accreditation as a Wikipedia editor, and that that person had been barred. In that light, can I ask for your help on a couple of specifics to get this over the line. Firstly, every reference has been exhaustively checked by myself as independent, reliable, published sources. As the writing career of Corless stretches back to the early 1980s, not all are online, but they are readily available in libraries, newspaper and broadcast archives. You suggest that IMBD is not reliable and independent, so should I include it as an External Link? What is the status of the online British Comedy Guide as a reliable, independent source?
I will resubmit having removed every trace of peacock terms. And finally, where do I go to find out how to format paragraphs on Wikipedia?

Hi Asilvering, I have re-read Wikipedia's instructions on citing reliable sources and I fail to see why my entry has been rejected on these grounds. Every source cited is reliable and verifiable. Corless has been writing professionally for 40 years so some of the sources quoted are not online but anything not online can be readlily accessed in the National Library of Ireland or the National Newspaper Library on Dublin's Pearse Street. The entry for Damian Corless was initially published by Wikipedia before it was pulled. When I inquired I was told the individual who pulled it had no authority to do so and that it was a vexatious action. I would ask you to reconsider your decision to reject this thoroughly researched and referenced entry. At the very least can you specify which references you have a problem with so that I can amend to your satisfaction. Clef

Please help me with...
Hi there.
I have resubmitted an entry on the Irish writer Damian Corless with the amendments suggested by the Wikipedia editor. The trouble is, I'm not sure if the amended article has either been sent or received because there was no Send/Submit option at the bottom of the piece. The View History section has it listed, but I'm still unsure if it has been sent and received. Can someone please enlighten me as to whether the amended piece is in the right place for reconsideration?
With thanks,Clef le Tete.

Hi again,
I've just spotted an editor's note I missed saying 'tone' on my entry for the writer Damian Corless.
If I change the 'tone' of the sentence can I resubmit, even though it's only an hour since I resubmitted what I believed to be the fully amended version?

To establish notability, sources more sources that meet wikipedia's
