Use of non-free logos

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please be aware that some files in use on this project are not free licensed. Some examples of this are File:AlabamaFootballClassicLogo.png and File:Vrbo Citrus Bowl.jpg. As you can see from those files, they have a large red "C" inside of a circle in the licensing sections of the image description pages. Such files must adhere to our Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria policy. That policy contains a requirement at #10c that any use of a non-free file must have "The name of each article (a link to each article is also recommended) in which fair use is claimed for the item, and a separate, specific non-free use rationale for each use of the item". When you added File:AlabamaFootballClassicLogo.png across the 1975 to 2000 season articles, you did not supply a rationale for each use. However, even if you had, such use would not be allowed. There's a guideline regarding this located at WP:NFC#UUI #7 which tells us that we should not be using a "logo of an entity used for identification of one of its child entities, when the child entity lacks its own branding." A season article is considered a "child entity" and thus the logo is inappropriate for all those season articles. I've left it in the 1974 season only because that was the season when that logo was introduced. Really, it belongs on the main team article, with sourced discussion regarding the introduction of the logo if available.

I've removed the uses of these two files. I'm sorry this is so bureaucratic, but it is how we handle non-free files here. If you have questions, let me know. Thanks, -- Hammersoft ( talk) 03:14, 27 January 2021 (UTC) reply

Copyright violation

Please be aware that we can not accept text copied from a website somewhere and pasted here. All content here is submitted under terms of CC BY-SA 3.0 License and the GFDL. Copying text from somewhere else without an equivalent free license and pasting it here is a copyright violation. You copied significant elements of this site onto the Geraldine, Alabama article. I've removed this text and suppressed the edits so the copyright violations can not be seen anymore. If you have questions about this, please let me know. Thanks, -- Hammersoft ( talk) 03:20, 27 January 2021 (UTC) reply

Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that in this edit to 2020 Alabama Crimson Tide football team, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Materialscientist ( talk) 17:14, 29 January 2021 (UTC) reply

Disambiguation link notification for February 4

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2021 Georgia Bulldogs football team, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Matt Luke. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot ( talk) 06:18, 4 February 2021 (UTC) reply

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on United Championship Racing Alliance requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://ucraracing.com/about.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Fort Payne Motor Speedway moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Fort Payne Motor Speedway, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. ( ?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed ( verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. A tag has been placed on Geraldine School requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. 2600:1004:B02F:BA9F:309A:BD22:7F78:CF12 ( talk) 16:19, 13 May 2021 (UTC) reply
