Request reason:
Apologies if this is the wrong block template, but the person who previously used this school IP to persistently vandalize is likely no longer present. I'd like to create an account, but my school has blocked the request-an-account page, meaning I can't request one. If any more specification or explanation is required, I can elaborate below this unblock request. 170.185.138.19 ( talk) 16:10, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
Decline reason:
So if you have an account, you should make this request from your account. If you would rather confine that account to the purposes that you say it's for, you can create a new account and then request an IP block exemption for it(see WP:IPECPROXY)- but you will need to explain why an exemption is necessary even though you have an account that you can use elsewhere. 331dot ( talk) 17:00, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{ unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
We have no way to knowing who is on this IP at any given moment. My first suggestion would be that you create an account elsewhere(or request one if need be). Curious that the school would block WP:ACC but permit IP editing(which would be harder to tie to a particular student) or not just block all of Wikipedia. Do you want to edit for a school function? 331dot ( talk) 16:30, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
It appears that I'm the only one who has an interest in editing Wikipedia at my school. Also, I can access WP:ACC fine for the most part, but then when I click "Request an account" it just gets blocked. I wish to edit in my free time, if possible. I also have an account present at User:Sixinite, although that account is used exclusively for when I am not in school or busy with homework. I'm aware I have no proof of being said user, but I can make a statement on the userpage about this IP being me once I get home. 170.185.138.19 ( talk) 16:40, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
This is the
discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's
IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may
create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users.
Registering also hides your IP address. |
