Boca Del Rio in the English translation would be Mouth Of The River or locals would say " River Mouth" [3]. It's an area located in the San Pedro Town and is also known as La Isla Bonita. Boca Del Rio is located in the norther part of the Island right after San Juan( St. John) however, it is where the town is divided from the coast. Where the river not fresh water but rather Salt water meets with the Sea. This area is one of the larges populated area in the Town.
History
Before in the 90's their was no houses only Mangroves and one street leading you to the other side of the island up coast. Where there was a Ferry that took people across from the Boca Del Rio to the other side. It also took only one Club Cart to the other side at a time. However that has now changed it is now decorated by a bridge wide enough to accommodate Trucks, Golf Cart known as Club Car, Cars, Bicycles and People. It connects Boca Del Rio to the other side of the area. Visitors who come to the Island come to this part of the Island to enjoy the "Sandy Beach" and hot Sun. It is also considered a place for family where everybody enjoy quality time. Located on the Eastern part of the Island is the Barrier Reef the second largest in the whole world. Boca Del Rio is also one of the most common places where at night people would go Fishing, head to the park with their children or their loved ones to have a Romantic moment. During the day it is the time for various activities whereby people would enjoy the sea, Sand, Sun some would even go to the extent of playing sports soccer at this time. In addition there is the popular use of water technology In this area such as jet-skis and different water sports activities.
This location is one of the most friendliest area on the island and very a very busy area when it comes in the morning and evening. In the morning all the workers going to work would make their start to work and in the evening they to come back from their daily journey of providing for their homes. This area is the area with many Deli where people stop and buy in the morning Fry Jacks and Tacos. In the afternoon they would be looking for their nice Rice And Beans. A dish well known to the Belizean. This area is considered to be the next heart of the island apart from the Central Park, where the San Pedranos and visitors interact and socialize with each other.
