Gerstberger Pines[1] is a 20 acre (8.1 ha) nature preserve owned and managed by the Taylor County Buildings, Grounds, and Parks Department.
It is an old growth hemlock, hardwood, white pine forest purchased in 1882 by Ed Gerstberger from the Wisconsin Central Railroad[1]. It was in the Gerstberger family until 1993, when Taylor County purchased it[1].
