Hi Pubdog. An edit title of yours with "DAB" in it caught my eye, off my watchlist, so I went ahead and created
Franklin Square Historic District. You were right in this case that adding (city, state) was needed to distinguish the Baltimore one from others of the same name. In general, it would be more helpful if you'd go ahead and start a disambiguation page if you identify that one is needed. You can generate a cut-and-paste-ready one using Elkman's tool for that at
http://www2.elkman.net/nrhp/dablinker.php. And you can tag that for review by me, or tag any other disambiguation page for review by me, by adding {{:NRHP dab needing cleanup}} {{
NRHP dab needing cleanup}} at the top.

Presumably bcz the markup {{tl:NRHP dab needing cleanup}} didn't do what you expected, you changed it to {{:NRHP dab needing cleanup}}, which may look better when rendered, but had the side effect of putting your talk page into Category:Disambiguation; i haven't tried to figure out why. But what i am sure you were trying to recall would be {{tl|NRHP dab needing cleanup}}, which renders thus:
and should avoid any embarrassing side effects. I took the liberty of correcting (and clearly labeling this markup) inside your signed contrib, feeling sure that it would not cause any misunderstood attribution, but would quickly get you out of being the 16th page in that 15 page-entry Cat. No harm done, i hope; thanks.

I am trying to use http://www2.elkman.net/nrhp/dablinker.php to verify NRHP DABS for names containing apostrophes, such as St. John's Church. When I do, I get an error. Do you know how else I can generate that script?-- Pubdog ( talk) 01:16, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
From Sanfranman59's talk page
About disambiguating when creating a new table for X city, Y county, Z state what i do is: 1. Check all bluelinks in the newly pasted in Elkman table.
1A. If a bluelink points to an article on the NRHP, then okay.
1B. If a bluelink points to a disambiguation page already, check that the page presents the county X NRHP properly (meaning that it shows red-link to "____ (X, Z)" followed by bluelink ", listed on the NRHP in X, Z" or ", listed on the NRHP in Z". If your NRHP is not presented properly there already, then probably other ones are not presented properly either. You can check to see whether other ones should be added by quickly checking "Who has". Tag the dab for me to come fill it out by tagging it with {{ NRHP dab needing cleanup}}, or fill it out all the way. For a dab titled "Smith House", I add all the places named exactly "Smith House", of course, and also all places named "Firstname Smith House", and variations like "Smith House and Barn". I usually find that one or more of those variation ones already has an article, so the dab has at least one bluelink. If there is no bluelink entry, I will create an NRHP stub, to protect the new dab page from dab-page-deleters. It's fine if you just want to tag the page for me to come check it, to develop it out and/or to create an NRHP stub. What I need help on is identifying the need for a new dab or for cleanup of a dab.
1C. If a bluelink currently points to somewhere else, then a dab is usually needed. Check "who has". Start the dab, perhaps very minimally, tagging with {{ NRHP dab needing cleanup}}. Again what i need is eyes identifying that dab pages are needed. In some cases the bluelink points to an article that is a primary use for the name already, in which case it may be appropriate to add an "otheruses" message pointing to a new dab page "____ House (disambiguation)", to be created. Start that new dab.
2. Consider all the red-links in the newly pasted in Elkman table. If it looks like one is for a common-sounding name, where it is possible/likely that another NRHP or two could share the name, check "Who has". For example, "Garcia House" sounded common to me. Who has showed only one NRHP of exactly that name, but others of form "Firstname Garcia House". Start the dab.
3. Back in the list-article, change the table entry to avoid any new or old dabs, but rather to point to the fully specified redlink "____ House (X, Z)"
4. Down in the old list of NRHP links in the list-article, check that the old entry for the place doesn't point to an article already that has a different non-standard name, like "____ House (X City)". If so, move it to "___ House (X City, Z State)" so that the disambiguation page and the Elkman table point to it properly. Or revise the disambiguation page and the Elkman table entry.

Biloxi Light infobox does look great. :) If working on a general infobox, one feature that would be nice to copy from {{ infobox Protected area}} is how it allows coords in DMS or decimal format. Thanks! doncram ( talk) 18:02, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
