Northern Pacific Ocean detected
a whale's call of 52 hertz, a frequency higher than any other known whale's? In the two following years and every year since 2014, the call has been detected, always from the same place. Scientists suspect that the whale making it is a
hybrid or a
mutant. As time progressed, the whale's calls decreased slightly in pitch, indicating its growth. In 2010, a different 52-hertz call was detected further south near
California, indicating that multiple such whales may exist. –
