I'm currently working on a rehashed version of the
1990 Pacific typhoon season which you can see
here. Could you help me with some of the sources/track maps?

As of now, I do not yet have autopatrolled rights on Wikimedia Commons, as stated by me in a small sidenote of
Wikipedia:WikiProject Tropical cyclones/Tracks#Current users. However, I will be applying for this right in a few days after I get enough edits on
1968 North Indian Ocean cyclone season, the season I am currently working on, and will update the track maps as soon as possible. Thank you for your consideration!

The track for
1998 Andhra Pradesh cyclone looks good, as the new and old colors for tropical depressions are the same. The only thing I need to change is the key, which I am doing now. Also, it appears that the cyclone was actually never fully tropical, as indicated in the IBTrACS code so I will update it later when I have time.

IBTrACS info
How would I import IBTrACS data to TrackGen? I'm planning to do a track map for
Cyclone Dinah and need to put it in Trackgen.
''Flux55'' (
talk) 18:27, 28 January 2024 (UTC)reply
What TrackGen are you using? Is it an offwiki TrackGen like
[1] or the
official Wikipedia version? If it is an offwiki TrackGen, just paste the IBTrACS data in the BT File area. If it is the official version, then you can read the manual.

Not that How would I get the IBTrACS stuff in the table into something useable for TrackGen (off-wiki)
''Flux55'' (
talk) 21:55, 29 January 2024 (UTC)reply
I would suggest getting the official JTWC data from
[2] and downloading the files from there.

I will make professional-quality track maps for this draft and create all sections when I have time. However, the project appears to be of low importance and I am currently working on recoloring track maps for the Atlantic hurricane seasons. Thank you! 2003LN6 06:30, 14 February 2024 (UTC)reply
I do not have information on this subject but there is a general consensus to keep the content. If there is a valid reason, post it on
the talk page and others will resolve the issue. 2003LN6 21:22, 6 February 2024 (UTC)reply
No content is actually being removed is what I am trying to tell you. Look. 95 characters typed below, but it links everything, references and all, from the individual season article. So while it reads as information being removed, all that information and referencing is still being displayed.

Please see
Wikipedia:REDCAT for why most of your many recent edits to dozens of redirects are not proper. We categorise redirects with one rcat per line. I am not going to undo all of your recent changes, but please stop "formatting" redirects in a manner that is not standard.
Primefac (

Thank you for the information. New redirects will be formatted in the provided manner. 2003LN6 14:38, 14 February 2024 (UTC)reply
The "List of botanists by author abbreviation" articles are only for standard abbreviations given in the International Plant Names Index and Index Fungorum, as per the opening paragraph of each article. We can't make up our own abbreviations.

I can see how the IP's edit summary led you astray. I'm thinking about revdeling that edit summary, and the two versions of text, as gross BLP violations. —C.Fred (

FYI there is no reason why we should use the SSHWS on the timeline image in the Aus Region, when the Aus Scale is the main way systems are classified in that region.

Single rcat in redr
Here you wrapped an existing single rcat in the redirect shell. As I read
WP:REDCAT, this isn't required (it isn't wrong either, and admittedly has the virtue of consistency with multiple-rcat redirs). Is there some consensus I'm not aware of? I have been creating redirects with a single rcat from time to time recently.
On the other hand, I haven't been including the blank lines before the rcat, and reading the policy will start me doing that.
David Brooks (
talk) 20:20, 11 March 2024 (UTC)reply
No, it's just that many templates for redirect categories prefer being in the redr shell, as it is the first thing they display in the preview. The policy says that it should preferably be placed, but it is not necessary. 2003LN6 20:28, 11 March 2024 (UTC)reply

Dominican President
When providing information to the mass of people, please report factual information. The president of Dominican Republic is not a great person. Watch the journalist from Haiti not the news that you get from the paid media. The people in Haiti are suffering in part because of the Dominican President. The people in Haiti created a canal and the president of Dominican Repulic has diverted the water, so the people are not able to receive the water that is supposed to run between the two countries. He is a horrible man. Stop writing false narratives. Listen to the journalist that report on them. A great youtube channel is TAK509. That channel will let you know who that president really is as people die in Haiti from basic necessities. No, they can not buy food and supplies from the Dominican Republic because the food and medical supplies that they send to Haiti are poisoned and infected. For once be an outlet that tells the facts.

Hi 2003 LN6. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:
Being granted rollback is no more momentous than installing
Twinkle or
Ultraviolet. It just adds a [Rollback] button next to a page's latest live revision - that's all. It does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you.
Rollback should be used to revert clear and unambiguous cases of vandalism only. Never use rollback to revert good faith edits.
Rollback should never be used to edit war, and it should never be used in a content-related dispute to restore the page to your preferred revision. If rollback is abused or used for this purpose or any other inappropriate purpose, the rights will be revoked.
Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, ask!
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see
Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my
talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing!
