The
Paris Declaration article references "the Marcy Amendment," linking to this article, but there is no information about said amendment. Perhaps someone versed in this episode could add a section about it as it kept the US from ratifying the Declaration, which became a significant component of international maritime law.

Gadsden Purchase not last major acquisition of land for the continental United States.

Any relation to Randolph B. Marcy, author of the 'Prairie Traveler' and father-in-law to George B. McClellan?
