there's really no such thing as uncooked Spam, so you have a point. I'm sure the original writer meant that the Spam is sometimes cooked again and sometimes not given extra preparation at all before being used on the musubi. Perhaps it could be reworded. When and why did everyone start using nori to wrap spam musubi? What happened to the green limu kine?

Personally I really don't care too much of the new kind wrapped in nori, but the limu version was great (though it sure did make you thirsty!). As of 10/2017, there is a 'See also' link to Loco Moco with the reasoning, "another Hawaiian dish that can involve rice and Spam." Spam is neither the canonical Loco Moco meat nor accompaniment, so perhaps a better explanation is in order of the form, "another popular modern Hawaiian meat-and-rice dish."
