All lists of National Registered Historic Places are generated from the National Park Service. Their Template is the source. No new place can be added unless it is put on the National List. This and other articles were created as transfers verbatim from the List of Registered Historic Places in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, which Wikipedia said was way too long. The original list has links to each new list under the city or town's heading it was transferred from. Size of original article was reduced by about 75%. clariosophic 23:07, 2 September 2007 (UTC) reply

Charles Adams-Woodbury Locke House and Adams Magoun House

Yesterday I changed the coords given for the subject houses. In the case of the Charles Adams-Woodbury Locke House, I also changed the coords at the individual article. The Adams-Magoun individual article was already OK. Reasons: 1) Charles Adams-Woodbury Locke House The coords given mapped a house on Adams Street, one block over. Since I had owned the subject house for three years, it was easy to pick the house from an aerial/satellite image at earthools.org and supply those corrds. This was apparently a problem translating NAD 1927 into WGS 84 as it was a small error.

2) Adams Magoun House I called up the location of all the NRHPs places in Somerville, using the tool "Map All Coordinates from Bing" (the similar Google Maps tool wasn't working). It was immediately obvious that the coords given here (which were 42°24′0″N 70°44′9″W) mapped to a place about 15 miles to the East, out in Massachusetts Bay. I corrected the coords, again using Earthools. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jameslwoodward ( talkcontribs) 14:43, 26 July 2009 (UTC) reply

Thanks! Good, glad to see you understand about the coordinates conversions issues. Many Massachusetts NRHP places will be located a bit off, due to that. Issues like the Magoun house being way off are more obvious errors, would hope those get noticed and fixed. A lot like that have been fixed. Again, thanks. doncram ( talk) 19:16, 26 July 2009 (UTC) reply
