Notability

Another editor is citing WP:EVENT as a standard of notability, but EVENT is about breaking news events and crimes etc not organized events like this. A Fringe Festival like this has been found to be notable across many cities worldwide. Fringe_theatre#List_of_fringe_festivals and yes precedent counts because many similar articles have survived deletion discussions. Legacypac ( talk) 06:51, 5 November 2018 (UTC) reply

Then let the community decide. They may well agree with you, although WP:OTHERSTUFF is not an argument. Note also that WP:EVENT mentions routine events such as sports matches, film premieres, press conferences. Hzh ( talk) 10:18, 5 November 2018 (UTC) reply
Yes OtherStuff but the standard of notability is set mostly by precedent. Legacypac ( talk) 19:11, 5 November 2018 (UTC) reply
Given that fringe festivals can vary widely in notability (for example the Edinburgh Fringe Festival is a very famous one), I don't see how there can be any precedent that would have any relevance in this, especially when some have also been deleted. WP:N specifically noted that the topic needs to have gained sufficiently significant attention by the world at large, and if the coverage is only local, then they are not notable.
