Great work
Whoever's done all this stuff, great work because Fist of the North Star is such a great series, with so many awesome characters. Nice going.

Article split
How about splitting off the character groupings as they are into separate articles where feasible? --
BrokenSphere 18:29, 1 July 2007 (UTC)reply
Yeah that would be a good idea. The article's way too big now if you ask me. It makes it messier than it would be if it were broken down. That said it still looks good which is a testament to how good the article is. But yeah, splitting it up would be good. Not really sure what the best way to organise it would be though. You could do it by organisation e.g. The Fang Clan or you could do it by the most well-known stuff. e.g. more people will remember "The Colonel" than "GOLAN". Also splitting it up would make sense because you could add trivia, external links etc. for each section.
Doom jester 14:30, 2 July 2007 (UTC)reply
One of the more obvious ways to split would be by fighting style; the Hokuto Shinken practitioners can be integrated into that article, while the Nanto Seiken practitioners can be migrated into their own space. --
BrokenSphere 14:50, 2 July 2007 (UTC)reply
So that would be an article for hokuto characters, an article for nanto characters, one for each of the other major groups e.g. GOLAN, the Fang Clan and then just have one article for other groups, and another article for minor characters.
Doom jester 07:16, 3 July 2007 (UTC)reply
While I do agree needs to the split, I don't think splitting based on the gangs in series (GOLAN, Jackal, Kiba Ichizoku) isn't such a good idea, since most of them were only around for a single story arc. If we go by the Japanese Wikipedia, each of the four Hokuto brothers and the Nanto Roku Seiken have their individual articles, since there's more ground to cover with them. So does Falco, Kaioh and oddly enough, the Harn Bros, Amiba and Ein (but not Ryuga). I think this article needs a bit of cleaning up before anything significant can be done.

It isn't a matter whether or not they "deserve" their own article, but how much referenced non-plot summary info you can write about the characters. As it is right now, the
Kenshiro and
Raoh articles are both a big mess as they are right now, while
Lin and
Bat are just plot summary. I think fixing them has higher priority than splitting this list. Right now I'm trying to promote
Fist of the North Star to Good Article status.

I think I'm the wrong guy for this; I'd probably just start from scratch if I did it.... That would probably make people angry.

I suggest that we eliminate some of the less notable characters from this list and only focus on the major ones. This doesn't need to be an indiscriminate list of every named (or unnamed) Hokuto no Ken character ever made. Toki, Jagi, Yuda, Souther, Falco and Rei are all major characters, as well as lesser villains like Heart, Uighur and the Golan Colonel to some extent. Rizo, Hawk, Usa and Dargarl on the other hand, aren't.
Jonny2x4 (

Disagree on Dagarl and probably Usa as well; they are fairly prominent in the Gaiden manga.

Most common official trade names
Does anyone have the English romanizations used in the Hokuto no Ken: Kyuukyoku Kaisetsusho book? I've seen scans of the book, but don't personally own, and I'm curious to know which are the most common English romanizations for the characters' names.

About Bell
It is confirmation, but is "Bell (ペル, Peru)" Bell in English? Not Pell? --
Motsu (

The Animaze dub of the series uses Bell if I recall correctly.
