Encyclopeadia's should not contain weasel words

The God Channel has attracted criticism from some commentators; television satirist and critic Victor Lewis-Smith described it as "hour upon hour of hate-filled, rabble-rousing, homophobic bigotry, much of it featuring (and funded by) right-wing American evangelists" [1].

I moved the above from the article as it is factually incorrect to have in an encyclopaedia17:25, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Halesowen

I've reverted your changes because the text you have deleted is not "factually incorrect" as it is a published statement properly attributed to the source. Further, please go reread WP:AWW, the Wikipedia style guideline regarding "weasel words." Attribution of a source of a critical statement is not the use of "weasel words." I can only reaffirm what Mike said above. "Weasel words" do not mean what you think they do, read the linked article. Lewis-Smith is a noted commentator, and his opinion was presented as that of a third party. Fourohfour 13:45, 25 February 2007 (UTC) reply
I've restored this quotation again, and placed it under a new Criticism heading. Made a few other changes to partially address the "content that is written like an advertisement" banner. Jno.skinner ( talk) 22:19, 8 May 2020 (UTC) reply

removing POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 ( talk) 21:52, 21 July 2013 (UTC) reply
