I'm new at this, so forgive me if I'm not following protocol, but I wanted to point out that the statement that the Franklin Mountains are the southernmost tip of the Rockies is false. The source cited in the footnote (#5) does not support that statement. Also, the map on the Wikipedia page for the Rocky Mountains seems to show their southernmost tip being in Northern New Mexico. And from what I've read elsewhere, it seems generally accepted that the southernmost portion of the Rockies is the Sangre de Cristo subrange in Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado. Indeed, this is stated in the first sentence of the Wikipedia page for the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.

Now I'm not an expert in this field, so I didn't feel comfortable editing the Wikipedia article itself. Still, unless I'm missing something (which is very possible), it seems pretty clear that the Franklin Mountains are NOT part of the Rocky Mountains. Anyway, I'll just leave this here so that some geology buff who comes across it and agrees can go ahead and make the change.
