The picture used to illustrate this article shows French " infanterie coloniale" (easy to recognise by their double-breasted paletot, the anchor badge on the helmets and the colours of the sergeant's kepi). Ironically, those were some of the few French Army units which were mostly composed of professional soldiers and not conscripts at the time! Don Durandal ( talk) 12:00, 17 September 2011 (UTC) reply
