By all accounts, the Club existed from about 1844 to 1849. Ceratinly Gautier's writings about the Club are from that period -- his article "Le Club des Hachichin" was published in the Revue des Deux Mondes in February of 1846, recounting his visit in December, presumably of 1845. As Rimbaud was born in 1854, it seems unlikely that he was a "founding member". Perhaps someone was confused by the article
Shakespeare on pot at CannabisCulture.com where an illustration of Rimbaud is displayed next to the section on The Hashish Club rather than the "Other pot poets" section where he is actually mentioned, and started this tidbit of misinformation making the rounds.
Additionally Verlaine, a contemporary of Rimbaud, was born in 1844 so also not likely a member.
