Not a copyvio

I don't think this article is a copyvio now. It should be expanded, without infringing anyone's copyright. -- Eastmain 05:22, 2 May 2007 (UTC) reply

I think the picture is Bidens bipinnata, not B. pilosa. Someone should check - thanks— Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.168.186.36 ( talk) 17:47, 16 January 2008

File:Bidens_pilosa-beijing.JPG and File:Bidens_pilosa.jpg are too far away to figure out what plant you are talking about. Use close ups of its flower and dried needle head. Immediately everybody will know what you are talking about. Jidanni ( talk) 01:00, 5 December 2010 (UTC) reply

Templates for the External links sections

The French version of this article had more external links with many leading to English sites. I tried to find the corresponding templates in en.wikipedia.org, but only found one for ITIS. I added the NCBI link using the generic web reference pattern and formatted the listed links to mimic the ITIS template's format. I did not incorporate the eFloras, Florabase, and GRIN external links, because of a poor cost-to-self/benefit-to-public ratio. (grin!)

For future reference, en.wikipedia does not have the equivalent to the following fr.wikipedia templates (I pasted the code outside of the template for easier reference), although a google search showed that the Commons has at least the NCBI version.

en.wikipedia does have:

  • Template:NCBI RefSeq/doc
  • Template:NCBI-handbook/doc
  • Template:NCBI-scienceprimer/doc

...but I could not see how I could use those templates for the Taxonomy Search.

These issues are more en.wikipedia-wide, or at least biology topics-wide, but as an editor limited by illness, the best I can do right now is capture this info here. Any suggestions, etc., are appreciated. At least I learned more about templates! Thanks, -- Geekdiva ( talk) 09:16, 12 April 2010 (UTC) reply

These link templates work now. I fixed your examples. -- MCEllis ( talk) 19:35, 11 February 2016 (UTC) reply

Flora of XYX??

I see the addition of category Flora of Nepal as inappropriate; could someone please comment? Bidens AFAIK is Central(ish) American; if we were to include it in Flora of Every country where it now is invasive, that would be unrewarding and cumbersome, not so? I see it in the category "Flora naturalised in Australia", but that is at least not misleading. I have not removed the category, but suggest that someone does so. This seems to be what the flower looks like, based on this reference http://www.noosanativeplants.com.au/plants/942/*bidens-pilosa:
