Wow. Enormous gaps. Textile technology development stops in 1953. This article should be called "A historical timeline of clothing and textiles technology. It does not cover all major textile regions/ clusters. --

Thanks to those working on this. I came here while trying to answer the question of when elastic fabrics were first introduced and didn't find my answer. I'll keep researching and add something to the article if I can find a credible source. If anyone finds the answer in the meantime, it would be a good addition to the timeline (and to
History of clothing and textiles). --
