Staring Array

The article states that the Javelin Anti-Tank missile uses a staring array, this is not true. The Javelin uses a scanned array. Thanks 199.46.245.234 19:00, 21 September 2007 (UTC) reply

Lack of clarity

Would the CCD in a normal digital camera also be considered a Focal Plane Array? The definition appears to imply so, but the rest of the article is concerned only with IR-sensitive chips. -- Ildottoreverde ( talk) 11:08, 1 November 2015 (UTC) reply

Merge with FPA

The principal difference between a staring array and other FPAs is that the staring array is two-dimensional and does not move, either in its assembly or relative to the subject of imaging.

Much of the discussion in the article pertains to thermographic and optical sensing technology as it applies to all FPAs, scanning, staring, or otherwise, and would be better presented elsewhere. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.69.88.134 ( talk) 14:40, 13 November 2016 (UTC) reply
