The current version of the article is misleading: it is neither "Soviet practice" nor Russian practice for a departing crew to return to Earth aboard a spacecraft other than the one on which they arrived. The Soyuz remains docked at the station during the crew's expedition. (It is only passengers who transfer from one Soyuz to another, or from a Shuttle to a Soyuz.)
